Coordinate the manufacturing schedule aligned with Equipment & Process capability. Provide technical management & advice to supervisors & operators. Lead a team ensuring that production goals and targets are met. Ensure procedures are set and followed to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of the area. Ensure products are manufactured to the highest standards and associated records are completed compliantly at all times. Actively engage in continuous improvement programmes ensuring that all manufacturing activities are carried out in the most cost-effective manner, minimising reject levels and maximising yields to ensuring that daily production targets and annual departmental goals are met. Manage and be responsible for Manufacturing Supervisors (who manage teams on various shift patterns) Drive high standards of performance within the team and identify development needs/skills gaps. Essential Criteria: A degree or third level qualification in Pharmacy, Science, Engineering or Mathematics (or a closely related area) OR at least five years’ experience in a Manufacturing/Packaging environment. Three years’ experience in a management role including managing teams on shift rotas. Experience and understanding of manufacturing, regulatory, quality and validation requirements, manufacturing processes. Ability to motivate and train team members. Experience of environmental, health and safety Experience of control of cross contamination. Experience of documentation associated with a Quality Management System. Understanding of production documentation processes. Demonstrated ability to maintain compliant & safe working environment, delivering products at high quality and in line with regulatory standards. Desirable Criteria: Experience in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing/Packaging environment. Experience in oral dose manufacturing, Sterile Injectables or other Pharmaceutical dosage formats. Additional Information: This role will be based in a site that produces and handles penicillin, and as such, this role would not be suitable for those that have a penicillin allergy.
