Our services are currently undergoing a transition from a campus based service to community living, where we aim to create opportunities for the people we support to be valued citizens in their communities and to have everyday life experiences. Our focus is to form a partnership with the people we support and their families to ensure each individual live their best life. We wish to recruit innovative, creative, visionary people who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision. Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individual’s they support on a daily basis. The Role: John Paul Service Administrator will be involved in the reception and accounting aspects of supporting all areas of John Paul Adult Service. The successful candidate will work with all members of the John Paul Adults Services Teams to ensure safe, quality and personalised service. The successful candidate will also be expected to respond to all queries for service provision and forward them on to the relevant staff member as appropriate. Tenure: This post is Temporary, part-time and pensionable linked to a permanent employees reduced hours. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion. Travel: A full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement of the post. Skills: The successful candidate must have: • Good judgement, discretion and confidentiality. • The ability to communicate clearly, sensitively, and effectively in both written and verbal forms, and to communicate with family members and work with them for the best outcome for the person supported. • Creative problem solving skills. • The ability to work independently while recognising when to seek support from interdisciplinary colleagues as appropriate. • Patience, flexibility, creativity and eagerness to become involved in a range of activities. • The ability to educate and upskill colleagues and family members in positive health promotion needs • The successful candidate will be required to co-operate in a team environment with a person-centred philosophy, participate in person-centred planning, individual reviews, and team meetings. Also they will attend and participate in training courses, and actively contribute to team based performance management. Working Hours: Permanent post: 75 hours a fortnight based on a Monday-Friday working between the hours of 8.30-17.30. Temporary posts: 75 hours a fortnight based on a 7 day work rota. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends, public holidays and occasional night duty. Flexibility will be required in order to meet service needs. A commitment to providing Senior Person cover within the service is an essential requirement of this post.
