Assistant Buyer – Fixed Term Contract Job Overview This role supports a team whose role is to procure everything needed to keep our organization running, from machines and spare parts, through to Laboratory and Office supplies. This role will report to the Indirect Category Manager. Main Activities/Tasks<ul><li>Order placement and delivery of materials in a timely, compliant and cost-effective manner to meet manufacturing schedule and Customer delivery performance.</li><li>Following initial training, manage a number of suppliers ensuring on time in full delivery of materials to the standards required.</li><li>Participate in meetings with other Buyers and Suppliers to develop skills &amp; knowledge.</li><li>Support Vendor Approval and adhere to Change Control process.</li><li>Liaise with internal stakeholders in other departments to minimise the risk of interruption to supply – ensure timely communication at all times.</li><li>Work with suppliers and cross-functionally within Norbrook to ensure optimum stock levels in line with current inventory model.</li><li>Undertake training to develop procurement skills to become a successful</li></ul> Essential Criteria:<ul><li>At least 3 years’ work experience in an office based environment with a keen interest in procurement.</li><li>Good communication skills</li><li>Team fit and ability to adhere to Norbrook values.</li><li>Numerate with good IT skills</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Resilient team player with a strong Customer (internal &amp; external) focus</li></ul> Desirable Criteria:<ul><li>Previous purchasing experience</li></ul> Duration: Fixed Term Contract Location: Newry Additional Information:<ul><li>Applicants should be able to provide proof that they have a right to work in the UK at the time of their application.
