We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Clinical / Educational Psychologist (Staff Grade) to join our team in Network 5- Galway City West. Contract Type: 6 months fixed term Contract Hours: 35 hours per week Salary Scale: € 62,274 to € 98,223 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments) Annual Leave: 34 days pro rata per annum Overview of the Post: To provide a range of psychological services to children 0 – 18 years and their families who attend City West Network Disability Team, within an interdisciplinary framework and family centred practice and to support other staff and students as assigned. Duties: Working under the direction of the CDNM and in partnership with psychology colleagues and as a member of the interdisciplinary team, the post holder will: · Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide an integrated and co- ordinated service to children and their families. · Provide consultation and support programmes for parents and families as appropriate. · Provide reports and information to relevant others, refer to other professionals; liaise with schools and other external agencies as appropriate. · Attend and participate in relevant meetings and case conferences. · Integrate clinical / educational psychology skills with current clinical psychology theory and relevant supporting evidence based knowledge. · Facilitate a family centred approach. · Adhere to the principle of informed consent prior to and throughout interventions. · Facilitate the service user to make informed decisions re: psychology interventions. · Use skilled observations and interviewing, including in complex situations. · Select, implement and analyse the outcomes of standardised and non- standardised assessments. · Collaborate skillfully with the child / young person as appropriate and work in partnership with his / her parent, family, carer to identify goals, including complex situations. · Apply clinical reasoning to plan, grade, implement and modify interventions that are outcome based and relevant to the child or young person’s goals. · Facilitate individual and group interventions in a skilled manner. · Evaluate and apply outcomes of intervention in collaboration with all stakeholders. Manage a Caseload: · Apply and develop caseload management procedures including prioritization · Co-ordinate intervention with other team members and with other agencies to ensure an optimum service is provided for all service users. · Evaluate effectiveness of current caseload management procedures in collaboration with the team manager and team. Professional Reasoning: · Engage and articulate reflection and evaluation on practice. · Demonstrate a logical and systematic approach to problem solving and decision making. · Engage in clinical reasoning based on clinical / educational psychology practice and supporting evidence. Quality Assurance: · Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of relevant quality assurance initiatives · Adhere to Enable Ireland’s policies, procedures and guidelines. · Adhere to City West Network Disability Team policies and guidelines. · Ensure that professional practice is in line with Enable Ireland’s Duty of Care and core values · Ensure timely and accurate record keeping in line with the requirements of Enable Ireland, The Freedom of Information Act (1997 and 2003) and The Data Protection Act (1988 and 2003). Professional Development & Support: The post holder will: · Attend and actively contribute to relevant clinical and professional meetings. · Participate in regular supervision · Direct their own personal professional development by ensuring that they maintain and develop their professional skill and knowledge. · Participate in training and developmental opportunities as identified and agreed in their Personal Professional Development Plan (PDP) / Team Development Plan (TDP) (as appropriate). · Support and contribute to research initiatives as required and appropriate. The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: i. Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject And ii. Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology Or An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. And iii. Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for. And iv. Applicants with a clinical or counselling psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings, for the area / areas for which they wish to apply - Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, Adult Psychology - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist. Note 2. Or Applicants with an educational psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings for the area / areas for which they wish to apply - Child Disability, Child Psychology - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist. Note 2. Note 2: Combinations of supervised clinical placement experience as part of the qualification and post qualification supervised work experience within a single care group area to give a total of 60 days are not acceptable. · Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) · Eligible to work in the state Desirable Criteria: · Experience of inter and trans-disciplinary team working. · Experience of working in a disability service. · Experience of working with children and adolescents with a range of disabilities post qualification. · Knowledge and skills in the management of behaviours of concern. · Knowledge and skills in conducting diagnostic assessments in children and young people including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities. BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – WEST REGION POST: TEMPORARY FULL-TIME STAFF GRADE PHYSIOTHERAPIST ADULT SERVICES GALWAY JOB REF: 83796 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Staff Grade Physiotherapist appointments within the Services may be made over the next 6 months. The Role: This post will be located within Galway city and county providing physiotherapy services people supported who access Adult services within the Brothers of Charity. Qualifications: Candidates must have at the latest date of application: (i) Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. Annual registration (i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. AND (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the employer. Character: Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character. Experience: It is desirable that candidates have experience or skills in the area of neurodisability and/or gerontology. A full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement of the post. Working Hours: 35 hours per week based on a 5 day duty roster. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8am – 8pm as future Service needs require. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 27 days per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Physiotherapist Salary scale (01/03/2025) - € 44,122 x 12 increments - € 61,953 per annum. LSI €63,154 per annum is payable after 3 years’ service at the maximum point of the scale Tenure: Temporary, full-time, pensionable and fixed term for 12 months. Travel: The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travel expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty.
