Continuous Professional Development opportunities via our dedicated Learning Academy ​​​​​​​ We currently have a vacancy for a Technician in Photography (Term Time) JOB PURPOSE ​​​​​​​ Reporting to the Head of School the post-holder will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to lecturers/courses in the relevant curriculum area. ​​​ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Photography or an equivalent qualification that contains at least 50% photography content. Have a minimum of one year’s experience working in the Photography Industry Demonstrate a current working knowledge of digital photography software and printing, dark room developing and processing techniques including black & white. Demonstrate a working knowledge of a professional photography studio set up and related equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of Health and Safety in a workshop environment Demonstrate competence in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to demonstrate initiative and independence in the working environment. Demonstrate effective organisational skills. KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB To support the Digital and Innovation Officer in the delivery of a number of digital transformation projects across the Council. Apprenticeship schemes are a great opportunity to combine learning, training, and work experience. The post holder will be required to complete a Higher-Level Apprenticeship in Business Technology. As a member of the Innovation Unit, the post holder will be required to: • Work as part of a team, concentrating on IT and Digital Transformation projects and supporting the wider team in project activities. • Provide support for staff across Council sites requiring IT support with digital applications and digitally led projects. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support teams in Lisburn Castlereagh City Council that are participating in a number of transformation projects, including: • Customer Experience Platform • Finance • Waste Operations – Digital Depot • New websites • Planning • Microsoft 365 rollout During your apprenticeship, you will have a minimum of two key areas of work, offering the opportunity to see the breadth of work being undertaken across Lisburn Castlereagh City Council. During this apprenticeship, you will develop a range of skills, such as: • Cyber Security • Process mapping and service design approaches • Making effective use of data • Presenting information in creative and engaging ways • Communication skills • Organisational skills • Agile project management • Website development • Structuring, extracting, and understanding data • Presenting information in creative and engaging ways Support the TPO team in the delivery of specific Digital and Innovation Strategy projects, including documenting sprint meetings and updating project plans. Liaise with Council Tech Leads and/or suppliers to help ensure the Council’s systems run smoothly. Develop a good understanding of the Council’s digital packages so that problems can be identified at an early stage and logged or resolved with suppliers to minimise disruption to service users. Help configure data contained within the Council’s corporate customer platform and support teams onboarding to the platform where necessary. This may include designing new e-forms and amending existing e-forms within the system. Support the internal communication mechanisms of the Digital and Innovation Strategy.
