Locum Consultant In Adult Palliative Medicine
Post: Locum Consultant in Adult Palliative Medicine Location: Northern Ireland Hospice, 74 Somerton Road, Belfast, BT15 3LH Salary: NHS Consultant Scale Hours: 8 - 10 PA/week Job Summary: It is envisaged that the post-holder will make key contributions to all aspects of the clinical care of patients. They will help to develop palliative medicine within Northern Ireland Hospice and provide care to patients in the inpatient unit and community. They will contribute to the development of staff and help in the delivery of education programmes requiring medical input. The post-holder will join the current consultant team whose clinical responsibilities rotate between the inpatient and community services. The post-holder will be expected to contribute programmed activities (PAs) to direct clinical care (DCC). There are also PAs to supporting professional activities (SPA) and 0.5 PAs for time off in lieu of on-call. Additional PAs in the future would be considered for additional involvement in teaching / research / supervisory roles depending on the interests of the candidate. The job description given is subject to change. The post will be based at Somerton House, however, this is subject to change either on an ongoing or temporary basis according to the demands of the service. Temporary Synmed Operator
ROLE This is a non-customer facing role to aid the Pharmacist/Site supervisor in the production of monitored dosage systems using an automated dispensing system; working alongside a small team of other operatives, technicians and pharmacists. Primary duties will include the operation of the Synmed dispensing robot (no previous experience required), deblistering of medication, receipt and filing of orders, processing of completed trays and ensuring accurate distribution to destination stores. Previous experience is not required as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. Please note this is a temporary role covering maternity. QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE Essential Grade C+ at GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English The Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to stringently follow a strict operational procedure as accuracy in this role is fundamental. The ideal candidate will be heavily process driven The ability to demonstrate effective team work and independent thinking Eligible to work in the UK ( Proof Requested).
