Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners is essential This is a Temporary Post for 1 year 37 hours per week Consultant with Specialty Interest desirable Portiuncula University Hospital comprises of 194 beds which includes a new 50 bedded ward opened in October 2024. 12 of these beds are currently a 5day ward. we also have 24 Day care beds of which 6 are for oncology. In 2023, there were 30,000 unscheduled care visits to the Emergency Department. The outpatient department facilitated 54,104 scheduled care outpatient attendances.. •There are 9 Medical Consultant posts based at Portiuncula University Hospital one with special interests in Respiratory, Gastroenterolgy, Cardiology and Endocrine. We also have a 50: 50 shared Geritrician GUH:PUH at present also. The Team are supported by 18 Registrars 20 Senior House Officers and 7 interns. •The person appointed will be required to participate in the General Medicine 1:8 on-call rota at Portiuncula University Hospital. •This post will support inpatient, outpatient, emergency department care, intensive care, outreach services, ward rounds, education and training to NCHD’s. •A wide range of other diagnostic facilities are available onsite including Radiology CT and MRI
