Cottage Desserts Production Operative Ref No: CDPO26/04 Cottage Desserts wish to recruit a highly motivated Production Operative who wishes to enhance their development within an established local business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a food manufacturing business based in Dromore. The successful candidate will be Involved in the various stages of desserts production from receipt, storage, processing and product make up to provide a high service level to the customer. Ideally the successful applicant will have some previous experience working in a Food Production environment however, this is not essential as full training will be provided. Administration Officer
Qualifications and Particulars of Employment Tenure of Employment Permanent part-time and pensionable Probationary Period A probationary period of 9 months will apply to this role Qualifications and Experience a) Each candidate for the appointment must possess: (i) Have satisfactory experience as a Clerical Officer in the Brothers of Charity, HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 OR (ii) Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irish¹. Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C on higher level papers in three subjects in that examination OR (iii) Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalent examination in another jurisdiction OR (iv) Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland (QQI) Note¹ Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher level papers. A pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme. The Leaving Certificate Applied Programme does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. AND b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and administrative ability, for the proper discharge of the office. c) Have good communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with the public and work as part of a team. d) Have 3 years post qualification experience of working in an administrative/office environment; previous experience of working within the Medical/Health Service would be desirable. e) Have excellent organisational and co-ordination skills. f) Have ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. g) Have commitment to teamwork. h) Have ability to be flexible and work on your own initiative. i) Have confidence, interest, and enthusiasm, and possess a friendly and positive approach to service users and staff. j) Have full driving licence which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads; essential. Remuneration : €35,609 - €54,914 including 1 LSI (1/8/25). Pro-rata if working part-time hours Hours of work : 35 hours per fortnight Pension Scheme The Brothers of Charity Contributory Superannuation Scheme, which is linked with the Nominated Health Agencies Superannuation Scheme or Single Public Service Pension Scheme (whichever is applicable), will apply to this appointment, and the person appointed will enter the said Scheme as from the date of taking up employment. Health Each candidate for, and any person holding, the appointment must be free from any defect or disease which would render him/her unsuitable to hold the appointment, and must be in a state of health as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. To satisfy this qualification, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical examination by a medical practitioner nominated by the employing authority. Duties The general duties of the appointment are as described in the attached Job Description. Garda E-Vetting Clearance / Police Clearance Garda E-Vetting Clearance is a requirement for employment in the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland - Southern Region. Police Clearance is also required for candidates who have lived abroad for over six months. Annual Leave 26 days per annum. Pro-rata if working part-time hours. The annual leave is planned by prior arrangement with her/his Line Manager. Notice At least one month’s notice, in writing, is required of intention to resign from the post during probationary period. Person Specification The person appointed will be required to have an understanding and respect for working according to the mission and ethos of the Brothers of Charity. The person appointed will be flexible, innovative and provide an efficient secretarial/administrative service.
