Cork The Role The purpose of this post is to ensure each individual person is supported to live the live the life of their choosing. The post-holder has responsibility for managing and co-ordinating the identification, development, implementation, evaluation and review of day service programmes for the person supported availing of services while also ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations, HSE New Directions and Services Policies. In addition, the post holder in managing their teams will actively support and ensure person centred plans, behavioural support plans and risk assessments are developed, implemented and regularly reviewed in order to ensure that each person in their area of responsibility can enjoy as much independence as possible, make choices, participate in their local community and enjoy meaningful friendships and relationships. The initial assignment for this role is in older persons day services – knowledge in programmes for older persons would be desirable. The Candidates: Each candidate for the appointment must: Have an appropriate 3rd level qualification at level 8 or above on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework in Health, RNID Nursing, Management or Education Have 3 years’ experience (with 5 years’ experience desirable) working at senior grade with relevant management experience with adults with Intellectual Disability / Autism / Challenging Behaviour/ older persons with intellectual disability. Counsellor/Therapist
HSE South West provides health and social care services to Cork and Kerry. Individual sites / location will be indicated at expression of interest stage to panel members for each individual job. Counsellor / Therapist job opportunities will occur primarily within the HSE National Counselling Service based within the Community Health Organisations across the HSE nationwide. A panel may be formed for the HSE South West Health Region as a result of this campaign for Counsellor/Therapist (National Counselling Service) from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. The HSE National Counselling Service (NCS) provides a professional, confidential, counselling and psychotherapy service. It is available in all HSE Community Health Organisations (CHO) areas and operates from over 240 locations throughout Ireland. The aim of the NCS is to support clients to improve their quality of life and reduce their psychological distress through the provision of evidence-based, professional, client centred counselling. The quantum of services provided by the NCS include provision of counselling to adults who have experienced childhood abuse, former residents of Mother and Baby Homes, individuals effected by issues in the cervical check screening programme, clients experiencing suicidal ideation/self-harm, bereavement, as well as the Counselling in Primary Care service (CIPC). CIPC provides time limited counselling of up to 8 counselling sessions to adult General Medical Services (GMS) cardholders with mild to moderate psychological difficulties. Eligibility criteria for the service currently limit referrals to CIPC to patients holding valid GMS cards referred by their GP or Primary Care Practitioner. The CIPC model of service is aimed at providing early access to counselling. The (CaPA) service (for adults who have experienced childhood abuse) is for moderate to severe psychological difficulties and offers medium to long term counselling contracts. In 2021 the NCS began offering counselling to former residents of Mother and Baby Home Institutions as part of the Government agreed package of health and well-being measures. The NCS fosters a client-centred holistic model of care based on best practice therapeutic models of clinical intervention both individual and group. The NCS model of service includes provision of a comprehensive assessment of clients and different levels of counselling intervention depending on the nature and complexity of clients’ presenting issues. The HSE NCS provides short, medium and long term therapy contracts to clients presenting with mild, moderate and complex psychological difficulties. Clinical Nurse Manager, Cancer Services
Details of Service Cork University Hospital (CUH) has approximately 800 beds and this will increase further to 1,000 beds on completion of the transfer of additional services to the CUH campus. CUH currently employs approximately 4,571 (WTE) staff of multiple professions and is the primary teaching hospital for the Faculty of Health and Science in University College Cork (UCC). UCC is the Academic partner of the South/South West Hospital Group. CUH has very strong relationships with each of the six schools within the Science Faculty of UCC and this is a key area for future development to maximise the opportunities for both the service and academia. CUH is a recommended Major Trauma Centre for the Republic of Ireland due to the wide range of specialties delivered by the hospital – including Neurosciences, Cardiac Services, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Renal, Internal Medicine, Vascular, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Maxillary-Facial, Paediatrics, Intensive Care, Oncology, Haematology, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Neonatology and Emergency Medicine. CUH is the tertiary referral centre for the HSE Southern area, and the supra regional area of Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny. CUH therefore acts as a regional centre for secondary and tertiary care for the catchment population of approx. 550,000 served by the HSE Southern area and a supra-regional centre for a total a population of 1.2 million. Six Health Regions have been established within the HSE, on the basis of the geographical boundaries agreed by the Government in July 2019 and they will be operational from 2024. Each Health Region will be tasked with population specific planning resourcing and delivery of health and social care services for the needs of its unique population. This will result in improved accountability and governance in terms of finance and performance, while also bringing decision-making closer to the frontline. Health Regions will enable and empower staff to provide services that are: • Integrated, locally planned and delivered • Easier to access and navigate • Available closer to home Health Regions are geographically-based units with clearly defined populations. They align community and hospital services within specific areas. The HSE will retain a strong but leaner central organisation, with more service provision developed at a local level. The HSE South West health region will manage and deliver all public health and social care services in Cork and Kerry. HSE South West includes all hospital and community healthcare services in the region. Purpose of the Post The CNM3 Cancer Services will help provide seamless care for all patients who access the service. The post holder plays a pivotal role within a multidisciplinary team and plays a central role in the management of activities, planning, co-ordinating and evaluation of cancer services for patients and their families and is responsible for contributing to the maintenance of the cancer database within the hospital. The CNM3 Cancer Services will communicate, negotiate and represent the patient's values with other professionals within the multidisciplinary team e.g. GPs and Public Health Nurses and will help patients obtain optimal treatment taking into account their special needs. The post holder will identify new and existing services to ensure delivery of a patient focused service and is responsible for maintaining links with the Nurse Specialists, Business Managers for Oncology and Surgery and other professionals in all referring hospitals. They will attend multidisciplinary meetings, where appropriate, and ensure that patient treatment plans are initiated and implemented in a seamless manner. The post holder will have a pivotal role in service planning, development, implementation, co-coordination and management of activity and resources within the Cancer Service. The CNM 3‘s responsibilities include: overseeing the quality of nursing care, the development and implementation of policy and procedures, the monitoring of activity and the delivery of agreed levels of service for the designated areas. The CNM3 plays a key role in providing clinical and professional leadership and promoting the values of the organisation, the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) and HIQA standards. In fulfilling their role, the post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team for cancer care and will be responsible for leading and working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the cancer strategy. Designated Cancer Care Centre CUH is one of the nine designated cancer centres of the HSE National Cancer Care Programme (NCCP) and one of two centres in the southern region. We provide cancer services predominantly to people who live in the counties of Cork, Kerry, South Tipperary, West Waterford and South East Limerick. Children's Disability Network Manager
Children’s Disability Network Manager (CDNM) Ref: 44/2026 Permanent Full-Time – 1 Post (Permanent): Network 5, Fermoy, Cork (Lead Agency St. Joseph’s Foundation) Children’s Disability Network services in CHO 4 are delivered in a partnership arrangement between Brothers of Charity, Horizons, CoAction, Enable Ireland, St Joseph’s Foundation and the HSE. The Role: The Children’s Disability Network Manager (CDNM) is responsible to the Lead Agency for the development of Children’s Disability Services within a designated area in line with National Policy. The CDNM is the accountable and responsible person for ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe, integrated children’s disability services to the population of the Community Healthcare Network. This will be provided in accordance with legislative and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated. Salary Scale: €89,184 x 7 increments to €98,158 New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011).
