Job Purpose: The successful applicant will provide the necessary administrative services within the Human Resources and Organisational Development Department and provide a high level of customer service to all users. The duties of this post will include dealing with the public, employees and casual workers, incoming telephone calls and visitors, making telephone calls, liaising with various Council Departments, dealing with confidential/sensitive information, maintaining computer and other records, filing, typing, photocopying and providing general secretarial support.

Housing Support Worker, Community Based - Young People
We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker, working within the North Down and Newtownards Area. BCM is over 130 years old making it one of Northern Irelands oldest charities. Housing Support for Young People supports young people (aged 18-25) to access and maintain accommodation in the community. Support can be provided for up to 2 years depending on their needs. Our young people come from all walks of life, many with challenging and complex needs such as addiction and mental health. We work holistically with each young person to support them to find and move into suitable accommodation and to develop their independent living skills. As a Housing Support Worker, you will be providing housing related support to a case load of young people living in the community. You will be assessing their needs and developing support plans with each young person to meet their specific needs, ensuring each support plan is continually monitored and reviewed to assess progress toward agreed goals. Support Worker, Nights - Part Time
We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker- Nights on a part time basis (10 hours). Our supported housing service works with young people from 16-21 years of age, and they can stay with us for up to two years. The young people will live in flats/shared accommodation within Riverside Place, Bangor and your job is to help them to prepare to live more independently in the community when they leave the Project. Each young person will have a support plan and your job is to work through this plan to ensure that they obtain the help and support they require to meet their goals THE YOUNG PEOPLE The young people may present very complex needs and may be challenging; some young people may have problems with drugs, alcohol or they may have been in trouble with the police. Additionally, some young people may arrive at Riverside Place, Bangor with a complex history which can include self-harm, trauma, isolation, poverty, difficulty in forming relationships / trust. To form part of a trained team of frontline staff who will provide attendant support to the public and staff to ensure a safe and user friendly environment. To deliver a high quality service in a professional manner in accordance with Leisure Services policies and procedures, including a nationally accredited quality scheme. Temporary, pending restructure, until 31 March 2022 (however this duration may vary if period of re-structure concludes earlier or may be extended or made permanent) – the commencement of the Post may vary dependent on COVID 19 guidelines Hours of work are: 18.5 hours per week. The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Average of 18.5 hours per week - NMDDC will provide contractual hours of 18.5 hours, per week, but due to COVID 19 the shift /working pattern cannot be guaranteed and your contracted hours will be varied on a weekly basis, to include day/evening and weekend working in order to meet operational requirements. Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice. Scale 3 SCP 5-6, currently £19,312 - £19,698 per annum based on a 37 hour week (pro rata to hours worked). It is Council policy to appoint at minimum salary scale point. Dependent on the working pattern(s), the above may attract a 10% shift allowance / or enhancements for weekend working.
Leisure Attendant II / Lifeguard
Main Purpose of Post The post holder will provide customer service support to individual and group patrons of Newry Leisure Centre, to help ensure visitor comfort, safety and enjoyment. This includes, as required during shift, fitness instruction/fitness classes (where qualified), gym supervision, coaching and swimming instruction (where qualified), lifeguarding and cleaning and upkeep of facilities as required.
