Locum Consultant Radiologist S I Breast Radiology
Locum Consultant Radiologist S.I. Breast radiology (Maternity Relief) This is an appointment to the BreastCheck on a Public Only Consultant’s Contract 2023 ( Locum ) by the Health Service Executive. The initial commitment for this post will be to BreastCheck - Southern Unit for 37 hours per week. "Agency Applications Will Not Be Considered at this time" The Opportunity The purpose of the post is to provide mammography reporting, assessment of screen-detected abnormalities, image-guided procedures and wire localisations at BreastCheck. The appointee will share responsibility with the Lead Radiologist for the overall co-ordination of the Unit’s quality assurance as related to all radiology aspects of the screening programme. Administrative responsibility may rotate amongst the other consultants who are employed in the delivery of the Programme. The successful candidate will be involved in multidisciplinary meetings (membership as per national guidelines) and should be prepared to be involved in promoting the programme nationally within the context of the Programme’s marketing strategy. Within BreastCheck, there is a well-established Multidisciplinary Team, comprising of Radiologists, Surgeons and Histopathologists, all of whom are involved in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Consultant Radiologists work together as part of this team. All mammograms are double reported. Where discrepancies occur, cases are discussed further and a group decision is taken either to recall the patient to an assessment clinic or to routinely recall them in 2 years. All radiologists partake in assessment clinics and participate in a peer review at the end of each clinic. All Radiologists attend the weekly Multidisciplinary meeting. The successful candidate will partake in all of the above activities. Clinical Nurse Manager Ward A, University Hospital
Details of Service Cork University Hospital (CUH) has approximately 800 beds and this will increase further to 1,000 beds on completion of the transfer of additional services to the CUH campus. CUH currently employs approximately 3,269 (WTE) staff of multiple professions and is the primary teaching hospital for the Faculty of Health and Science in University College Cork (UCC). UCC is the Academic partner of the South/South West Hospital Group. CUH has very strong relationships with each of the six schools within the Science Faculty of UCC and this is a key area for future development to maximise the opportunities for both the service and academia. CUH is one of only two Major Trauma Centres in the Republic of Ireland due to the wide range of specialties delivered by the hospital – including Neurosciences, Cardiac Services, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Renal, Internal Medicine, Vascular, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Maxillary-Facial, Paediatrics, Intensive Care, Oncology, Haematology, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Neonatology and Emergency Medicine. CUH is JAG accredited and is a Magnet4Europe Hospital. CUH is the tertiary referral centre for the HSE Southern area, and the supra regional area of Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny. CUH therefore acts as a regional centre for secondary and tertiary care for the catchment population of approx. 550,000 served by the HSE Southern area and a supra-regional centre for a total a population of 1.1 million. In 2022, CUH had 72,928 ED presentations; 265,360 physical out-patient attendances; 38,457 virtual out-patient attendances; 30,379 inpatient discharges and 30,593 day cases. Ward 1A Ward 1A is a 35 bedded acute medical ward. The service includes Care of the Older Person and Rheumatology patients. The ward has an established multi-disciplinary team that delivers a clear pathway for the older person. Purpose of the Post To be responsible for the management, care and treatment of service users, to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the designated area(s) of responsibility. The primary role of the CNM 1 will be one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team, including the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where this is appropriate. Purpose of the post: · To perform, interpret and report a wide range of vascular ultrasound scans and other tests for vascular conditions, working autonomously at a senior level, and provide clinical supervision to the vascular trainees/physiologists as required. · To assist the Chief II or Chief I Vascular Physiologist in managing the operational delivery of the newly established vascular laboratory across the full range of referrals and patient presentations, managing staff rotas, and clinic lists, ensuring the highest professional and technical standards are met by all staff. · To assist/lead/manage clinical research and audit activities within the Vascular Laboratory with the aim to advance vascular science and increase the overall stature/reputation of the Vascular Laboratory. · To assist in the set up and management of a structured training programme and provide supervision for pre-accredited vascular physiologists, taking responsibility for ensuring the delivery of the service and the individual development needs of trainees on a daily basis. · To assist the Chief II or Chief I Vascular Physiologist with the implementation of new, improved and optimised methods, techniques and service improvements utilising the best available evidence based medicine, national guidelines and results from research and development. · To assist with procurement of equipment and consumables required within the Vascular Laboratory.
