Consultant Paediatric Anaesthesiologist
Purpose of Role: This is a newly funded post that will join the current team of anaesthesiologists in Crumlin At present, the consultants are providing anaesthesia cover to 8 theatres, one of which is a dedicated spinal theatre, 1 cardiac catheterisation suite, CT screening room, interventional radiology suite, nuclear medicine, and MRI. General Anaesthesiology for off-site radiotherapy in St. Luke’s (500 cases per year requiring consultant Anaesthesiologist presence) is also provided in addition to remote intrathecal chemotherapy list within Crumlin Hospital. CHI-Crumlin anaesthesiologists also provide acute pain cover and oversee the pre-anaesthetic assessment service. This post is required in order to support the further development of spinal surgery with the introduction of a dedicated spinal surgical list. The post holder would additionally contribute to pre-operative assessment clinic optimising patient pathways to safe and effective surgery, assist with the delivery of post-operative pain management and participation in MDT meetings to optimise patient care. Essential Criteria a)Registration in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Anaesthesiology And b)Two years certified postgraduate training in paediatric Anaesthesiology. The successful interviewee must be registered as a specialist in the relevant specialty on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland, within 180 days of the day of interview and before taking up appointment. The Consultant must, at all times, while continuing to hold office, continue to be registered with the Medical Council of Ireland. Documentary evidence of Medical Council Registration is required and must be produced annually to the Medical Administration Department within the Children’s Health Ireland. Clinical Nurse Manager, Research GI Unit
Microb-AI-ome Research Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) will liaise with the BowelScreen CNM and ANP to identify suitable BowelScreen patients for enrolment into the Micorb-AI-ome study. They will be responsible for contacting the patients to explain the research study background and processes to them. They will send the PIL and consent form and stool collection sample kit to the patient ahead of their scheduled screening colonoscopy. For those BowelScreen patients willing to participate in the study, they will go through and sign the consent form with the patient. They will then assign the patient one of the randomly generated Study IDs. It is the responsibility of the CNM1 to monitor and store collected stool samples. All patient’s stool samples should be labelled with the study ID and transferred to the -20 freezer in the Liver Centre on the same day. The CNM1 will then arrange for the transfer of patient stool samples to the UCC lab in batches, as per the sample transfer protocol. The CNM1 will be the contact person for patients enrolled in the study and will provide support to the patients as required. They will complete the diet and lifestyle study questionnaire with the patient either on the day of the procedure or at a later date. The CNM1 will be responsible for uploading the relevant patient and endoscopy-related data to the study database. They may be asked to assist with other clinical research with the GI service.
