Senior Medical Scientist, Quality Officer In Blood Transfusion
Permanent | Part-time | 14hrs • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Blood Transfusion laboratory since qualifying as a Medical Scientist • Qualifications for the post are stipulated by the Health Service Executive. • Evidence of Registration with CORU must be supplied with the application. The Blood Transfusion Department, which is accredited to ISO 15189, provides services for NOHC and an external Private Hospital. The Department is well equipped with technology/instrumentation; Winpath LIS, Q-Pulse, Biorad IH500 and Bloodtrack. The NOHC Laboratory operates a multi-disciplinary on-call service and multi-disciplinary extended working day. The National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh (NOHC) has 34 Orthopaedic Surgeons and is Ireland’s largest dedicated Orthopaedic centre, the national referral centre for post-prosthetic joint infections, Ireland’s primary referral centre for bone and soft tissue tumours, and the dedicated surgical centre for the National Sarcoma Service. NOHC also provides orthopaedic oncology, rehabilitation, rheumatology and paediatric services, and sports and exercise medicine. Home to the National Bone Bank, the Hospital is affiliated with RCSI, UCD and DCU as a teaching establishment. Senior Occupational Therapist Palliative Care · 1.0WTE (35 hours) · Indefinite Duration · H.S.E. funded · Based in Harold’s Cross in Palliative Care The Senior Occupational Therapist will work in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist Manager in ensuring the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, client-centred Occupational Therapy Service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation. The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high standard Occupational Therapy service in a designated area * and will carry out clinical and educational duties as assigned by the Occupational Therapist Manager. Special Lecturer in Palliative Medicine University College Dublin · 1.0WTE (39 hours) · Fixed Term contract (36 months) · Funded by University College Dublin · Based in The Education & Research Centre in Harold’s Cross The purpose of this position is to provide undergraduate education in palliative medicine to UCD medical students. The post holder will pursue a research interest leading to a higher degree and help the Professor of Palliative Medicine to supervise the work of undergraduate research students and postgraduate research assistants. The post holder will engage in undergraduate medical curriculum planning, co-ordination and teaching and will work closely with the Trinity College Dublin (TCD) affiliated special lecturer. The role will include coordination of postgraduate teaching including Palliative Medicine Grand Rounds, involvement in the development of the Academic Department of Palliative Medicine, policy development and committee work as directed. A small clinical commitment attaches to this position.
