Leisure Assistant
Salary: Scale 3 SCP 7 – 9 £25,584 - £26,409 per annum. Shift allowance and weekend enhancement may be earned JOB PURPOSE: Committing to the one-team ethos, you will be flexible and collaborative and you will actively support all colleagues and other activities necessary to deliver the service objectives. In the pools, you will uphold all lifeguarding and safety standards and procedures, ensuring that all customers have a safe and enjoyable experience in the pool areas. You will also ensure that all facilities/areas are properly organised and equipped so that customers have a safe, clean and enjoyable experience. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain constant surveillance of the pools and act appropriately to ensure the safety of customers. Adhere to all NOPs, EAPs, control measures, safe systems of work and standards. Remain fully conversant with all emergency procedures and take part in emergency situations, providing emergency care as required. Ensure appropriate customer behaviour within the facility. Ensure that all customers are fully informed with respect to the facilities, services, products, and prices available to them. Promote and/or sell all products and activities within the Centre and within the Leisure Services portfolio. Conduct inspection and cleaning duties to ensure that all areas of the Centre are clean, tidy, and hygienic and facilities and equipment are fit for a safe and enjoyable customer experience. Conduct effective set up/take down tasks to ensure facilities and equipment are prepared for a safe and enjoyable customer experience throughout the Centre. Participate in the Centre’s checking system, keeping records up-to-date and fix or promptly report faults, as appropriate. Participate in the pool water quality testing system and procedures to ensure pool water quality is safe and maintain records. Maintain NPLQ and complete training and CPD. Be flexible and collaborative and actively support all colleagues and other activities or processes which impact on the performance of the Centre. Qualifications and training • Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent. Key skills, knowledge and attributes • Effective customer care skills; • Excellent oral and written communication skills; • Ability to keep accurate records; • Ability to work as part of a team; • Ability to work on own initiative; • Ability to handle sensitive or difficult situations appropriately; • Understanding of health and safety requirements; • Flexible approach to work demands. You will make outbound renewal calls relating to existing customers who want to speak to someone about renewing their motor and/or home insurance. What does the Driver role involve? This role is responsible for the transportation of stock between Randox sites and other locations, ensuring the integrity of the material is maintained and all schedules are met. Key duties of the role include: • The transport of any requested item to and from the various Randox sites. • The transport of any item from a Randox Site to a third party location and vice versa. • The transport of all manufactured stock from the various Randox sites into stock coldroom and room temperature storage areas. • The maintenance of any Transport Logs, Goods in or Goods out records required for full traceability of all items being transported. • Ensuring all items are loaded and unloaded in an appropriate fashion to and from their vehicle. • Ensuring that all items are stacked, stored, tied or strapped as necessary within the vehicle, to ensure their safe transport. • Assist in the training of staff. • Assist in stock control or stores activities.
