Hsemw Medical Officer, Senior
The successful candidate will work within the Community Health Care Department working as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a coordinated approach to client care. Senior Medical Officers (Community Medicine Doctors) work closely with departments of Public Health Nursing, GPs, Pediatricians, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, audiology services, ophthalmology services, disability services, PCRS and the National Immunisation Office. Senior Medical Officers provide school based immunisation programmes in Primary and Secondary schools. Immunisation is one of the most cost-effective ways of reducing childhood morbidity and mortality. Senior Medical Officers are involved in child health screening and surveillance for the preschool and primary school child . Senior Medical Officers provide second tier child health clinics and provide medical assessments for early intervention and disability services. Senior Medical officers carry out the medical assessment of grants and allowances administered by the HSE and Revenue Commissioners and determine clients’ medical eligibility for said grants and allowances. Senior Medical Officers may provide targeted community medical services for socially excluded groups Senior Medical Officers work within Community Care Departments to contribute to the delivery of an integrated healthcare system which is responsive to people’s needs at the lowest level of complexity for the local population. St. Camillus Hospital Limerick, Residential and Day Hospital Services are operated by the Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West. Situated on the Shelbourne Road, Limerick, this 100 bed hospital provides for the Care of the Older Person and also has REHAB/Stroke units as well as day hospital services and many other HSE services accommodated on the campus. The Catering Department at St. Camillus Hospital provides catering services to clients in long stay, respite and rehab residential care, and mental health services, in addition to hospital staff and visitors and to Mental Health Community Units throughout the city. The department provides an efficient, cost effective, quality catering service to meet the nutritional requirements of all service users in compliance with all legislative standards pertaining to the service. The structure of the catering department team comprises the following staff: o Catering Officer o Executive Chef o Chefs Grade I & II o Catering Attendant The post holder will report to the Executive Chef and department management.
