The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their local community. Our aim is to provide a quality service that promotes the independence and potential of each individual we support at all stages of their lives. As our service numbers increase, we are looking to expand our service Management Team. The successful candidate will be involved in developing existing services through supporting the local staff teams. The Team Manager will have Person in Charge (PIC) responsibility and will oversee some residential and day service locations. The Role: The Team Manager will provide leadership and direction for the team, actively coordinating the team to ensure the development of person-centred services as agreed on the Service Plan for each Service Area. The role is full-time supernumerary. The Team Manager will support the staff teams and be responsible for the overall operational management of specified locations of the service. The successful candidate will work closely with the Service Coordinator/ Area Manager to ensure that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner within the agreed budget, and will be proactive members of the management team. Reporting To/ Responsible To: Area Manager Qualifications/Experience/Skills: Candidates must have - · A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Social Care or Health Sector e.g. Nursing qualification and current Live Register Certificate from NMBI or Social Care qualification registered with or eligible to register with CORU by November 2025. View Social Care approved qualifications on https://www.coru.ie/health-and-social-care-professionals/education/approved-qualifications/social-care-workers/ · An appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management (QQI Level 6) is a necessary requirement of the post. If the successful applicant does not hold such a qualification, a commitment to obtaining the qualification prior to taking up the post will be required. · A minimum of 3 years postgraduate relevant experience in leadership and management is desirable. · Proven operational experience in the provision of Services for people with an Intellectual Disability is essential. · Proficiency in computer skills and on-line data management systems is also essential. · A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement. · Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. · Practical working knowledge and experience of working within the 2007 Health Act and subsequent HIQA regulations and Standards is highly desirable. · Functional Knowledge of New Directions Interim Standards. · The successful candidates must be flexible and dynamic individuals who can relate to people in a range of situations. Working Hours: For Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) grade, a 75 hours fortnight applies as per HR Circular 018/2022. For Social Care Manager 2 (SCM2) grade, a 78 hours fortnight applies. The post will be rostered on a 7-day basis. It is envisaged that the post will primarily be Monday to Friday. Contracted hours of work are flexible within the hours of 8am – 8pm. Some weekend work may occasionally be required. An on-call commitment on a 7-day rostered basis is an essential requirement of the post. This is rostered between the management team for the county, currently 2-3 times per year. An on-call allowance is paid. Annual Leave: Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful candidate i.e., CNM2 (25 days + service related leave days) or SCM2 (30 days). Remuneration: Based on the salary scale attached to the grade of the successful candidate, i.e., CNM2 or SCM2 per Department of Health salary scales. Paid maternity/paternity leave/sick leave schemes apply. Travel: A mileage allowance is paid for work related travel. The base for Curlew Services is Ard na Seaghsa, Abbeytown, Boyle. There is a company group health insurance scheme with VHI with 10% discount for participating staff members. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion. Tenure: The post is permanent, full-time and pensionable. JOB DESCRIPTION The Brothers of Charity Services model of service is based on the Personal Outcome Measures system for person centred planning, requiring employees to be flexible within working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual supported. Services are provided using a rights based approach. Specific Conditions: · All staff must have a positive attitude towards working with persons with an intellectual disability and autism and help to ensure that they lead as normal and enjoyable a life as possible. · All staff are required to establish and maintain relationships with adults with disabilities that are based on respect and equality and that promote their independence. Main duties and functions: · Provide a high level of leadership to all staff/ team members within the service. · Oversee and manage staffing with responsibility for rosters, staff support and supervision, training, team meetings and all allied duties in line with organisational and HR procedures and legislation. · Assist in formulating, implementing and evaluating service plans in co-operation with the Service Coordinator/ Area Manager, Multidisciplinary support staff and other team members under the direction of the Area Manager. · Deputise for the other Team Managers/Service Coordinator/Area Manager as the need arises, including the provision of on-call cover on an agreed rostered basis. · Ensure that Personal Outcome Measures person centred planning and a rights-based approach to support is fully operational in the teams you are supporting and reviewed as required. · Ensure the will and preference of the person supported is core to service delivery. · Foster the development of the local team and the work that it does. Facilitate team building, staff motivation to build positive and proactive supports and working environment. · Evaluate and manage the implementation of best practice and ensure that all staff are familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Brothers of Charity Services – West Region. · Along with the Service Coordinator/ Area Manager, ensure that all repairs to buildings and equipment are carried out promptly. · Ensure all records are maintained correctly and accurately in relation to accidents, incidents, complaints, meetings, organisational and HSE requirements and HIQA notifications. · Ensure all data bases, systems and auditing requirements are up to date as per policies and procedures. · Ensure that best practice, high professional standards and confidentiality are maintained at all times. · Participate in managing all resources efficiently and effectively within the agreed budget. · Facilitate co-ordination, co-operation, liaison and communication across multidisciplinary teams and services. · Participate in a paid on-call all rota, usually requiring a commitment twice a year. · Engage with family representatives in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and the management team and in line with the wishes of people supported. · Promote and facilitate community liaison including advocacy, citizen advocacy and human rights. · Promote dignity at work and show respect to people supported by the services, colleagues and other stakeholders in the course of duty. · Be aware of and become familiar with fire drill procedures within the services i.e. fire detection, evacuation and firefighting. · Be conscious of Health and Safety matters in the workplace and in particular ensure that all team members comply with Employee’s obligations as set out under Section 9 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. · Avail of all training and development opportunities for your professional development. · Perform such other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned to him/her by the Area Manager/Service Co-ordinator.
