This unit provides ongoing medical monitoring, rehabilitation or re-enablement to patients following an acute hospital stay. Candidates MUST have a relevant QQI Level 5 Qualification (or equivalent) and previous experience is an advantage. Purpose of the Role The Care Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care via the Named Nurse concept. As such a team member, the Care Assistant contributes to the fulfillment of Mount Carmel's philosophy of care. What does this role entail? Role Overview You will provide leadership and manage a team of Support Co-ordinators, Volunteer Support Officers, Technology Engagement Officers, and Volunteers who provide the full range of ALONE’s services in the following counties; Dublin South, West Wicklow, Kildare, Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath. This region of responsibility may be subject to change, as per the planned reconfiguration of HSE areas. The goal is to continuously enhance and expand our support services for older people. This position is a 12 month full time contract. Reporting Relationship You will report directly to the ALONE Head of Services. Occasional out of hours, weekend availability and on call may be required. The salary will be in the region of €40 – 45k dependent on skills and experience. Main responsibilities:  The position is full-time and dependent on annual funding.
