turn2me  provides an online peer to peer support community in which community members can gain support and/or give support to others. Community members can openly discuss mental health and wellbeing issues, share their experiences, and connect with their peers in this safe online space. Peer support is available for adults (18+) and young people (12-17) and is monitored on a full-time basis by trained staff. Members receive support from both other site users as well as our trained Community Builder volunteers who can signpost to relevant information and services, as well as suggesting upcoming support groups. The Moderator role is critical to the success of turn2me. The shift we are seeking to fill is Saturday and Sundays from 8pm – 2am, working online from the comfort of your own home. Moderators support our mission and vision in several different ways: Moderator Role Description Moderate the thought catcher from 8pm – 2am, Saturday and Sundays. Ensure that all posts are within site guidelines and do not contain triggering language, swear words, use abusive language towards others, advocate for illegal behaviours, ask for or offer medical advice or flood the site with repetitive or span comments, A link to our guidelines can be found here:  https://turn2me.ie/post/community-guidelines Ensure site users do not share identifying information via their usernames or posts left on the site, anonymity is crucial. Signpost ‘moderate risk’ site users to relevant support services, both internally in turn2me and to external agencies, details of which have been provided in your Moderator Handbook. Identify ‘at risk’ users and engage in a private chat to keep them safe. Assistance is in your Moderator Handbook. Escalate ‘in danger’ users to the garda and ambulance services for intervention. Escalation procedure provided separately. Hiding and editing Thoughts, comments, and usernames as appropriate Proofreading and editing content for the website and creating new content, as appropriate. Assisting with social media posts / advertising when required. Engaging with our youth volunteers/community builders supported by Anika and Suzanne. Moderators are  not  expected to: If a site user continues to post moderate and / or high-risk posts after being contacted multiple times by staff members a clinical intervention will need to be completed.
