Applications are invited for a Temporary 11 Months part time / 0.6fte post ) post of a Project Co-Ordinator post within UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy: UCD Centre for Irish Towns This is an 11-month part-time Project Coordinator post with "RIPPLE: Making connections between water and climate change in our towns", with the UCD Centre for Irish Towns (CfIT) and funded by Creative Ireland. This is a part-time, project-based role working directly with communities on the ground in Ballina, Co. Mayo. The position is based in the northwest of Ireland, specifically in Ballina, Co. Mayo, and will also involve occasional meetings at the UCD campus in Dublin. The Project Coordinator post will be in place from January 2022 to end of November 2022. RIPPLE seeks to bridge the gap between awareness and action on climate change. The project seeks to explore the potential of water as a point of connection with climate change and transform this connection into tangible actions which can facilitate system, lifestyle and behaviour/attitudinal changes in local communities. The Project Lead is Orla Murphy from UCD Centre for Irish Towns, and the Project Team is a collaboration between academics in UCD CfIT (Dr Sarah Cotterill and Dr Philip Crowe), artist Ríonach Ní Néill, Councillor Mark Duffy (Mayo County Council), and Kevin Loftus from Ballina - Ireland's Greenest Town. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team on one of the first group of projects funded by Creative Ireland to engage art practice and communities with climate change and urban resilience. RIPPLE is one of a series of projects funded by Creative Ireland's Climate Action Fund. Creative Ireland is a 5-year programme run by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. The purpose of the role is to provide on the ground local coordination, project management and administration for RIPPLE in collaboration with the Project Lead and Project Team. In addition, the Project Coordinator will be the main liaison and point of contact with local individuals, groups, communities and local authority representatives in Ballina. The position may therefore involve some evening or weekend work for specific workshops and events. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for creating and delivering an agreed upon programme of dissemination and communication. Fixed salary: €32,200 per annum pro-rata (Equal to €19,320 per annum on a part-time / 0.6FTE basis).
