Programme Director With Selamatkan Yaki
Selamatkan Yaki is a multi-faceted conservation programme working to save the Critically Endangered Sulawesi-crested macaque (known as the yaki) in Indonesia. Their efforts comprise education and outreach, protected area management and sustainable development, all based on long-term research exploring the lives of both the macaques and people. Selamatkan Yaki is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join their team as Programme Director (PD) . The PD will work directly with the Programme Manager, Programme Supervisor and Team Leaders to support the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all conservation and research activities. Their main responsibilities will include the strategic conservation planning for the programme, stakeholder engagement and support, leveraging and overseeing funding, and co-production of scientific output. They will be responsible for evaluating and reporting on ongoing population monitoring, education, and wildlife trade mitigation strategy projects. The PD is expected to act independently and communicate strongly with team members, stakeholders and partners. This a casual role which means you can control the days you work Employment will be carried out on different retail customer sites and stores and travel will vary on a shift-by-shift basis. You will be responsible for ensuring stock is counted quickly and accurately using a handheld scanner. Being able to stand for prolonged periods of time is needed for the role and access equipment such as ladders or steps may have to be used on occasion to reach high stock. Transport in Dublin must be discussed at interview stages Key Skills/ Experience Required Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to work unsociable hours including early mornings and throughout the night when required. As a result, we can only accept applicants 18 years and over. You must have a 'can do' attitude and be able to work long shifts when required on large counts. With our innovative business, the technology changes and progresses and therefore being a quick learner is a key skill required. Any experience of handling stock is an advantage but not a necessity. A good understanding of the English language is essential.
