You will be trained to the highest possible technical standards and acquire, amongst many other skills, the ability to maintain the various systems associated with modern public service vehicles. This includes training on the various day to day repairs and preventative maintenance tasks, in addition to vehicle diagnostics/fault finding with some of the most advanced systems of its kind in place. Our apprentices have achieved great success in the National Skills Competition over the years which is testament to the training they have received.An apprenticeship comprises of seven phases, three off-the-job and four on-the job. During all of these phases you are assessed on a structured ongoing basis. On-the-job training takes place with Bus Éireann during Phases 1 – 3 – 5 – 7. Maintenance Manager - Kevin I grew up around machinery and from an early age decided I wanted to be a mechanic. Bus Éireann had a garage in the centre of town which always impressed me so I applied for an apprenticeship. I was very impressed upon my arrival in the garage, state of the art equipment and a paint shop for body repairs.What I liked most about my time as an apprentice was the variety of work. From mechanical, to prepping buses for painting, to tracing electrical faults, there was always something different and interesting to do! There were also many challenges from carrying out repairs in a time sensitive manner to training and upskilling to meet the demands of new technologies on our buses.I have enjoyed my time and would have no hesitation in recommending Bus Éireann as an employer. There are many opportunities and different paths you can take to further your career. Garage Supervisor - Paul I started as an Apprentice, qualified and progressed to a permanent HV Mechanic position. Over that period of time I received excellent training including a wide range of courses relevant to our industry. I also completed my D (bus) licence training which included advanced driver training.  I was promoted to Garage Supervisor in 2008. I can’t recommend Bus Éireann enough if you are interested in a fulfilling career with plenty of opportunities to educate and progress in the Company.

We do this by constantly monitoring, assessing and responding to cyber threats directed towards HPE and implementing mitigating controls. Key Responsibilities: • Detect Cyber Security incidents in real time through centralized monitoring • Analyze security events from multiple sources across a large enterprise network, including SIEM, IPS/IDS, firewalls, etc. and identify the cause of incidents • Respond to incidents by applying containment and eradication strategies • Work with Cyber Security & Soft skills Mentors from across multiple teams and locations • Develop processes and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency • Drive innovation and improvement by identifying opportunities in new technologies, capabilities, processes and procedures The Cyber Defense Center provide 24/7 coverage, 365 days a year. This is achieved through rotating shift patterns (Weekends, evenings & nights). A shift allowance will be included.
