Children’s Disability Manager Salary Scale €90,977 to €95,518 DOE Overview of the Post: The Children’s Disability Network Manager (CDNM) is responsible to the Lead Agency (in this case, Kare) for the development of Children’s Disability Services within the designated area, in line with National Policy. The CDNM is the accountable and responsible person for ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe, integrated children’s disability services to the population of the assigned Community Healthcare Network. This will be provided in accordance with legislative and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated. Using the key principles of the Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People programme as a model of service which is based on family-centred practice and interdisciplinary team working, the CDNM will have full responsibility and accountability for managing resources including all the children’s disability staff within the Children’s Disability Network. The CDNM will provide day to day operational line management for children’s disability staff and provide clinical assurance regarding the professional supervision of each clinician working in that team. The CDNM will be supported in this regard by an agreed evidence-based clinical governance structure within the Lead Agency or Community Healthcare Organisation. Main Duties & Responsibilities: · Strategically lead and manage the Children’s Disability Network Service, ensuring safe, high-quality, family-centred and person-centred service delivery. · Provide operational leadership and support to multidisciplinary teams delivering children’s disability services. · Manage staffing, budgets, resources and service performance to meet national and local service objectives. · Oversee referral pathways, waiting lists, assessments, interventions, reviews and discharge processes. · Drive continuous quality improvement, clinical governance and evidence-based practice across the service. · Monitor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and service user outcomes. · Build and maintain effective partnerships with families, schools, community organisations and external agencies. · Lead workforce planning, staff supervision, induction, training, development and performance management. · Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, Children First requirements, safeguarding obligations, GDPR, health and safety legislation and organisational policies. · Manage complaints, incidents, risk assessments and quality assurance processes to support safe service delivery. · Promote inclusion, collaboration, innovation and a positive team culture focused on achieving the best outcomes for children and families. NCHD Lead, Internal Competition Only
The Lead NCHD initiative is one of a range of initiatives taken at national level to improve NCHD recruitment and retention in the Irish public health system. It has been in place since 2014 and evolved into an important leadership role across the health sector, with over 700 Lead NCHDs appointed over this time frame. Eligibility to Compete Be employed as an SHO, Registrar, Specialist Registrar or Senior Registrar, with an NCHD contact and an appropriate clinical commitment in the relevant clinical site for the training year. Eligibility criteria may vary by site. Please contact your local medical workforce department for further details. Educational Fund In acknowledgement of the work associated with the Lead NCHD role each Lead NCHD will have an additional top-up to their existing Training Support Scheme (TSS) fund. It is suggested, and encouraged, that this fund be used towards additional training in leadership or management skills, but the fund can be used under usual TSS processes and eligibility. Funding of €2,500 will be provided for Leads in place for 12 months.
