Overview of the Post The purpose of the role is to work as a member of the team providing preschool and home support services within the Kilkenny/Carlow CHO5 area in active partnership and in line with the needs and wishes of each child and family. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities · Create an environment, which promotes each child’s participation in terms of choice and decision-making and in which each child is enabled to reach their highest level of independence. · Provide leadership, supervision and support to all support staff in the provision of clinical and care support services across multiple locations. · Identify and understand the health and medical needs of each child as required and ensure their needs are met appropriately. · Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and review of care for children according to service standards including TUSLA and HIQA regulations. · In partnership with parents/carers/team to act as facilitator to foster links with the child’s future educators. · Ensure the implementation of agreed programmes of care for each child, are met in ways, which promote dignity and respect for the child. · Provide support and or mentorship to staff and students. · Identify training needs and deliver training to non-nursing staff as required. · Ensure that the care and hygiene of treatment rooms, bathroom and toileting facilities are to the highest standards. · Planning and management of bus routes and time schedules and act as bus escort in the transportation of the children to and from home as required. · Work with individual children in a range of settings.
