The role: The apprenticeship offered will be for a 4-year period and will involve both on the job and off the job training. Horticulture Apprentice
Overview: Join our team at Duckett’s Grove House and Walled Gardens as a Horticulture Apprentice. The primary duties of the appointee will be working with corpus data to support, on a collaborative basis, members of the editorial team, under the supervision of the Editor. These duties will enhance the lexicographical workflow and be an integral part of dictionary production. Training will be available where specific technical tasks are identified. Inland Fisheries Ireland has a vacancy for an Research Officer OPWCRP to join the Research and Development division. The Research Officer will be responsible for day to day delivery of IFI’s Office of Public Works Climate Resilience Project (OPWCRP). He/she will be responsible for generating high-quality scientific data to inform the management, conservation, and protection of fish species and their habitats, supporting evidence-based responses to climate change. The broad objective of the programme is to build an evidence based research programme to assess the impact of climate change on the Irish fisheries sector in drained Irish river catchments and he/she will collaborate closely with colleagues working on IFI’s climate change mitigation research programme. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in planning and execution of applied scientific studies in field situations. The work will involve both desk and field investigations. The appointee will produce detailed scientific reports and papers on the progress of the project.
