The Food & Beverage Assistant will report to the Restaurant / Bar Manager or Supervisor in their absence. Purpose: The Food & Beverage Assistant is to ensure that all tables, stores, buffet and activity areas are ready for use as required in terms of Hygiene and Health and Safety. He/she will ensure that the Hotel’s Customer Care policy is always maintained. Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties: 1. To carry out all responsibilities and duties assigned by the Restaurant / Bar Manager or Supervisor. 2. Generally assist the Restaurant / Bar Manager in furthering the successful operation of the Lakeview Restaurant / Bench Café Bar / the Sylvan Suite as required. 3. Follow instructions in accordance with management policies and the directions of the General Manager and Personnel and Training Manager. 4. Communicate with reception to ensure that dinner bookings are taken correctly. 5. Inform Manager of availability of work and holiday requests so as the Manager can plan and organize roster in accordance with booking forecasts and labour costs. 6. Ensure quality standards are achieved within the restaurant by completing tasks and checklists. 7. Follow up Customer feedback by the use of Plus 1 book and Action Plans. 8. Attend departmental meetings. 9. Report maintenance problems and record list to assist Manager to meet compliance with Health and Safety Legislation. 10. Communicate with the Manager on their days off through a Hand-over book, any information essential to the operation of the department. 11. Any other reasonable duties requested by Management
