Our headquarters are based in the Bay Area, but we also have opportunities at our offices in Portland and Toronto! We are engineers, designers, makers, and problem solvers. We work in the fishbowl known as the open source community, with a clear focus on making the Web better. Working with us, you'll help build interesting new features and improvements in Firefox. Past interns have done substantial work in Language Design, Compiler Optimizations, Garbage Collection, Static/Dynamic Analysis, Record-and-Replay Debugging, Parallel Algorithms, Graphics, Video Codecs, and Web Application Optimization. Your work will be highly visible and fully open, just like the rest of Mozilla. We've put together a list of possible research topics for this particular term, but we'd love it if you have research ideas of your own to bring to the group. As always, we strongly encourage our research interns to submit their results to relevant academic conferences. To apply, submit your resume via the online form located below. Eg: standardization of the WebXR API, developing the Firefox Reality browser, working on frameworks and tools to create AR & VR experiences, … The Social Mixed Reality team will be looking for a summer intern to help design and create 3D art assets next year for Hubs by Mozilla ( https://hubs.mozilla.com ), to bolster our efforts around avatar and scene customization for social VR and AR on the web. During this internship you will help create assets for custom avatars and custom scenes in Hubs ( https://hubs.mozilla.com ). Your tasks will be to develop concept-art and later modeling, texturing and animation of 3D content. You will help us also to identify problems in the current content creation workflow and propose solutions for them. Basic Qualifications: --------------------- Note that this is a long wishlist of qualifications: if you feel you have some but not all of these skills, but you are interested, please do apply anyway. **Please include a portfolio, reel, or ArtStation page showing your recent work.** About Mozilla ------------- Mozilla exists to build the Internet as a public resource accessible to all because we believe that open and free is better than closed and controlled. When you work at Mozilla, you give yourself a chance to make a difference in the lives of Web users everywhere. And you give us a chance to make a difference in your life every single day. Join us to work on the Web as the platform and help create more opportunity and innovation for everyone online. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
