Cork City Council has a vacancy for the position of permanent Craftworker (Plumber) and will be creating a panel from which any permanent or temporary vacancies arising during the lifetime of the panel may be filled. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a larger team throughout Cork City. Flexibility will be required in terms of location, nature of duties, and assignment areas , in line with operational needs as directed by line management. Ongoing training and development opportunities will form a core part of the role. Candidates will be required to carry out such duties and follow such instructions as may be issued from time to time by the Senior Engineer or other nominated persons. Duties assigned may vary or be amended in accordance with the operational needs of Cork City Council. The post holder shall not engage in any external gainful occupation that could impair the performance of their duties as a local authority employee, conflict with the interests of the local authority, or be inconsistent with the discharge of their responsibilities in this role. Healthcare Assistants
We have vacancies for Healthcare Assistants in our nursing homes in the following locations: Mullingar, Multyfarnham, Edgeworthstown, Castlebar, Monaghan and Galway. Applicants will have a background in the care sector or experience of looking after somebody vulnerable. A qualification similar/equivalent to QQI Level 5 Care Skills and Care of the Elderly is desirable but not essential (this can be facilitated once in employment). We are looking for caring, patient and reliable individuals with a genuine interest in working with the older person. You should be an excellent team player and be flexible and supportive to colleagues. Fluent English and a professional manner are required. We offer a comprehensive induction programme, free training - both mandatory and additional specialised training, subsidised meals while on duty, subsidised uniforms, refer a friend scheme, and ongoing support and development. Relocation support is available subject to terms and conditions. Day and night duty is expected on a rotational basis, the same for weekends and bank holidays. Duties include: deliver a high standard of holistic, person-centred care, promote the residents' independence, equality and dignity, carry out direct personal care, encourage and assist residents in recreational activities, observe care plans and alert nurses regarding changes, communicate with all residents and their family/friends. Apprentice Support Officer
JOB DETAILS Retail Ireland Skillnet are seeking an Apprentice Support Officer for the Apprenticeship in Retail Supervision programme for our Cork cohort of apprentices and supporting other regions if necessary. The successful candidate will be based in the Letterkenny Office and will be required to travel to Cork 2-3 times per month when classroom days are being delivered. The successful candidate will also be required to oversee communications and marketing activities. The role is a full-time fixed term contract and will be for 5 days per week.
