DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • To work within the ethos and core values of Avista. • To support the implementation of Avista’s WorkAbility progression and access strategy to further employment. • To ensure work of the Supported Employment service is informed by research and national and international best practice. • To support individuals through the discovery process and to establish their interests, abilities, strengths, and match these to their vision of employment. • Identify opportunities for individuals within workplace settings to develop and maintain good customised and supported work roles; supporting the development of meaningful Social Valued Roles (SRV). • To support the project lead and supported individuals in the co-design and development of educational content of the World of Work preparation programme. To be delivered to supported individuals in person and online via Avista E-hub platform. • Provide direct support to individuals in the workplace and/or set up support in the environment that will enable the individual to be successful in their career. • To seek to involve the individuals we support and their natural support network in the person-centred planning process, and to always look to build people's natural supports. • To support individuals to develop good relationships and improve networking skills which will foster self-confidence, a sense of worth and fulfillment in their lives. • To develop knowledge of socially acceptable norms of behavior and to support individuals to relate this knowledge to work and everyday life. • To enable the individuals we support to develop a positive and realistic attitude towards self and work. • To be creative in developing an individuals vision towards work. • To communicate effectively with the individuals you support, their families, staff, and community organisations. • To communicate and engage positively with the employers in developing a customised employment role and to support a successful outcome for the employee and employer. • Play a key role in the team supporting the sourcing, maintaining and development of employment/work experience opportunities as appropriate for the individuals supported. • Facilitate individuals to develop work readiness skills and support internal and external training programmes. • Manage resources effectively and be accountable for their use. • Keep appropriate and accurate documentation. • To provide regular reports to the project lead. Ensuring all KPI’s, employment records and reports are kept up to date to inform the project lead and the Supported Employment Steering committee. • Be a strong advocate for supported individuals and to empower people. • Be able to inspire others that things can happen if you introduce change.5 • To identify and utilise community settings and to encourage inclusion and integration in the community. • Ability to work towards sustainability of supports provided. • Maintain and promote good working relationships with colleagues, individuals supported and parents. • To support advocacy, employment, and educational initiatives, encouraging supported individuals to be actively involved in decision making. • Being flexible in working hours and location to meet the changing needs of the individuals we support. • To report any risk/concerns/issues pertaining to individual / families to the line manager as soon as they arise. • To attend Multi-disciplinary meetings when necessary and to attend in-service training and any other meetings as required. • To effectively manage your time, working on your own initiative and as part of a team. • To be responsible for the implementation of independent travel policies, practices and procedures • Maintain a high standard of confidentiality in the workplace. • To ensure that your environment safe for you, colleagues, and visitors. • Have the ability to review practices and make the necessary changes as appropriate. • Maintain a high standard of work performance, attendance, appearance, and punctuality at all times. • Provide support with personal care as required within the environment. • Being aware of emergency procedures and ensuring that the health and safety policy of the service is strictly adhered to. • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time. Trainee Communications Operators join the Defence Forces as General Service Recruits . This is followed by a further twelve weeks of 2-3 Star training , where you continue to build your military knowledge and experience. On successful completion of this training, you will progress to specialist Communications Operator training within the CIS Corps (Communications and Information Services) . Here you will learn how to operate and maintain military communications systems, providing secure and reliable voice, data, and radio communications that support Defence Forces units during training, daily operations, and overseas deployments. Whilst undergoing these three elements of training, in addition to full pay, you will also receive free meals and accommodation within the barracks. Communications Operators play a critical role in ensuring that commanders and units remain connected during operations. Administration Scheduler
Key Responsibilities To accurately diagnose and record maintenance repairs for Housing Executive tenants and triage customer calls to establish work orders for issue to HED operatives. To schedule or reschedule all appointments to suit customers and/or business needs. To correlate repairs data and track repairs progress against agreed deadlines, following up on any beyond deadline jobs. To communicate and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders including customers, HED Supervisors and the NIHE CSU Unit to help deliver HED’s maintenance services. To build and maintain a knowledge and understanding of the schedule of rates. To carry out and complete all work to a high quality and in a timely manner to meet contract KPIs. To take an active and positive role within the team, working together to meet business objectives. To use a wide range of IT systems to record, manage, create, analyse and retrieve repairs information. General Duties To provide a high level of internal and external customer service and following issues through to completion, while ensuring timely escalation to senior management, when required. To ensure continued and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. To promote continuous service improvement by working with tenants and other stakeholders to improve service delivery. To represent HED as required and provide support and cover for the other team members as and when required. To undertake the duties of the role in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of NIHE. To adhere to the Core Values and Code of Conduct for Housing Executive employees and comply with all NIHE frameworks, policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to legal requirements such as equality, health and safety and information governance. Admin Schedulers are required to cover the out of hours repairs service between 5pm and 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 2pm on Saturday on a rota basis.
