We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Manager within our clinical laboratory services team in Great Portland Street in London. Location : Randox Health, 143-149 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 6QN. Contract Offered : Full-time, permanent Working Hours / Shifts : 8.40am to 5.20pm, Monday to Friday, however some flexibility will be required. What does this role involve? This role is responsible for the operational and laboratory functions within the Randox Clinical Laboratory Services laboratory. Some of the key duties include: • Ensuring that all laboratory based testing for Clinical diagnostics and clinical trial samples is conducted accurately in conjunction with RCLS standard operating procedures and in-line with ISO/IEC 17025, ISOIEC 15189, GCP and MHRA Good Clinical Practice. • Liaising with the Quality Personnel ensuring that effective collection and testing procedures are in place which meet the requirements of the various regulatory bodies and international standards. • Review IQC & EQA Performance in parallel for all instruments across all clinical lab sites and take remedial action when significant deviations from the lab’s established performance are identified. • Ensuring the meeting of deadlines and turn around times for all projects. • Providing advice and guidance on technical issues associated with clinical diagnostic testing and analysis of clinical trial samples. • Ensuring that all the necessary quality control checks are completed daily and that they meet both internal and external criteria. • Daily supervision of the laboratory staff, including conducting appraisals and delivering training. • Review & trend analytical data generated by the lab for patient results. • Evaluate each labs/instrument capacity on a regular basis to improve/maintain efficiency within each lab. • Ensuring that the integrity of all samples is adhered to at all times. • Writing of new Standard Operation Procedure and Work Instructions within the department. • Liaising with clients and ensuring that they are receiving the best possible service. • Provide guidance and approval for development of new test methods in line with regulatory requirements. Who can apply? Essential criteria: • Qualified to at least degree level in Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Immunology or a Life Science. • Experience in diagnostic testing and reagent applications. • Previous laboratory experience. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • Strong leaderships skills and a high level of self motivation. • Knowledge of a variety of software packages including Microsoft packages such as Excel, Outlook and Word. Prism Finance And Administration Officer
Job Purpose: PRISM Finance/Administration Officer will be responsible for supporting the Project Development and Delivery Manager and leading the finance and admin functions across the project, with a particular focus on coordinating claims and returns to SEUPB. Location: Campus location Omagh, however due to the nature of work within the College, it is anticipated that travel to all campus sites may be required. Dependant on future developments, the College may reserve the right to relocate staff to other Campuses of South West College). Key Responsibilities: Programme Administration 1. To develop, implement and maintain a range of administrative systems and procedures, which support the delivery of the PRISM programme. 2. To develop and maintain a Management Information System (MIS) which accurately records project data and activity. 3. To produce periodic reports MIS data for Management, Funders and Steering Committee quantifying progress against programme KPIs. 4. Organise and support the cycle of team meetings, partner meetings, project board and stakeholder committee meetings, to include minute taking and recording completion of actions. 5. Provide administrative support to ensure the efficient discharge of PRISM management meetings; to include circulation of agenda, minute taking and dissemination of agreed minutes. 6. To support PRISM partners in the development and implementation of administration and finance procedures. Programme Finance Duties 7. To implement and maintain the college systems and financial procedures, ensuring the efficient and effective financial management of the PRISM programme. 8. To co-ordinate, in conjunction with Programme Development and Delivery Manager programme expenditure that is in line with the agreed budget and the Colleges financial procedures. 9. Produce periodic claims in line with funders deadlines adhering to funders and College guidelines; ensuring back-up information is retained to support expenditure. 10. To co-ordinate, in conjunction with Programme Development and Delivery Manager the procurement of provision and services to support the delivery of the PRISM programme. 11. To develop, in conjunction with Programme Development and Delivery Manager an annual budget profile for the programme. 12. To develop, in conjunction with the College finance department a monthly cycle of activity which ensures the efficient processing of expenditure and enables the production of a monthly budget up-date. 13. To undertake, in conjunction with the Programme Development and Delivery Manager monthly re-profile of the budget to ensure efficient budgetary management of the PRISM programme. 14. To prepare a range of budgetary reports for the Colleges management, steering committee and programme funders, quantifying expenditure across budget headings. 15. To support the Programme Development and Delivery Manager in preparing for internal and external audit. General Responsibilities The post holder is expected to: 1. Overall Responsibility As Northern Ireland’s leading local Cancer Charity providing prevention, detection and support services, this vital role working within a team providing a high-quality clerical and reception support for Action Cancer’s Services primarily in Action Cancer House (Belfast) as well as in the BIG BUS, Action Cancer’s state-of the art mobile service. Main Areas of Responsibility Administration · To provide clerical and administrative support for in-house clinics primarily in Action Cancer House and on rotation on the Big Bus and regional locations. · To provide reception cover in Action Cancer House using the switchboard, as well as greeting users and visitors and making them feel at ease and welcome to the service demonstrating excellent customer care skills. · On rotation provide reception cover on the BIG BUS, maintaining contact with ACH, greeting users and visitors and making them feel at ease and welcome to the service demonstrating excellent customer care skills. · To deal with enquiries from and provide information and guidance to clients and the general public, passing queries to the appropriate person. · To ensure the provision of relevant information for the Client Information Database (CID), maintaining and updating CID using the bespoke appointment system.
