The Role:  The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.  The Operational Leakage function monitor the performance of the network in relation to water conservation and leakage, ensuring risks to service continuity are identified and managed and that the Customer first approach is at the forefront of Asset Operations activities. This will include the performance of the asset base, optimising production and managing network integrity during interventions. The Operational Leakage team play a key part in ensuring the operation of UÉ’s asset base and the quality of the data that is utilised by the Asset Operations, Asset Planning, IDD, telemetry and NOMC teams. Reporting to the Water Conservation Lead the Leakage Maintenance and Repair Team Lead has a remit over a geographical area and is responsible for overseeing planned leak repair activities across the network infrastructure in a safe manner. The Leakage M&R Team Lead will be responsible for leading, supporting and developing a team of Leakage M&R Operatives and provide them with the necessary direction and skills in order to ensure the provision of maintenance and repair services across the water network. They will also have responsibility for liaising and co-ordinating with third party Contractors where they are undertaking the leak repairs on UÉ’s behalf. Residence Post holders shall reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Ballymun, Co. Dublin. The Director of the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly reserves the right to assign the post holder to any premises, now or in the future, subject to reasonable notice. 9. Start Date The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly shall require the successful candidate to take up their appointment within a reasonable period. Should they fail to take up the appointment within an agreed period, the Assembly may, at its discretion, decide not to appoint them.
