Since its foundation in 1784, it has played a leadership role in Irish surgical and medical education. Currently, it operates the largest Medical School in Ireland and provides undergraduate education in Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, and Nursing. In addition to Surgery, it also provides postgraduate training and education in Radiology, Dentistry, Nursing & Midwifery, Sports and Exercise Medicine, Healthcare Management and Leadership, and has an Institute of Research. RCSI recognises that excellence in research is critical to the quality of its educational activities, its credibility, and, overall, to its mission to enhance human health. Recently, RCSI has implemented a new research strategy that will build upon its strength in translational biomedical and clinical research to deliver transformational, high impact changes in health care. Targeting both Irish national and EU funding, along with increased collaboration with industry, is a major part of the RCSI research strategy. Forging increased collaboration between RCSI PIs and industry is of critical importance to achieving success in this area. Specifics of the Post This position will involve provision of administrative support to the Sponsor Office at RCSI which consists of the Sponsor Officer, Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager and GCP Monitor/Project Manager. Specifically, the duties of the post are:  Provide general administrative and clerical support.  Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system (SOPs etc.)  Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence via email and hardcopy mail  Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails  Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for Sponsor Office personnel when required  Maintain office supplies for department  Support for data protection  In-house project support  Assist with bookings, invoicing & catering orders for RCSI GCP course days (estimate 6-8 course days per annum)  Provide assistance to an evolving department Knowledge & Experience – (Essential):  Previous administrative experience  Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and co-ordinate diverse projects.  Ability to work effectively in an environment characterised by tight timelines and changing priorities  Self-motivated, able to work independently, as well as in multi-disciplinary teams. Knowledge & Experience (Desirable):  Previous experience of clinical research documentation management.
