This is an exciting time with the launch of the National Swimming Strategy which calls for the deployment of Swimming Activators to work with all stakeholders to ensure the active promotion and development of swimming opportunities. Swimming Activators will work with LSPs, local authorities, facility operators, clubs, schools, and community groups to boost swimming participation. Their efforts will align with Swim Ireland’s Participation Strategy and the National Swimming Strategy (2024-2027), aiming for increased participation in the short term and with long-term goals of community health improvement, increased capacity, and aquatic workforce development. Assistant Risk Manager, University Hospital
Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest university teaching hospital in Ireland and the only Level 1 Trauma Centre in the country due to the presence of over 40 different medical and surgical specialties on the campus. CUH has 800 beds and currently employs approximately 3,600 (WTE) staff of multiple professions. It is the primary teaching hospital for the Faculty of Health and Science in University College Cork. University College Cork (UCC) is the Primary Academic partner of the South-South West Hospital Group. Cork University Hospital has very strong relationships with each of the six schools within the Science Faculty of UCC and this is a key area for future development to maximise the opportunities for both the service and academia. Risk management is a component of the Quality & Safety Department which promotes and facilitates all aspects of patient safety and the standards for better health across CUH through the development of organisational-wide strategies, policies and procedures related to patient safety, quality, risk management, complaints, clinical audit and patient and public involvement. With the Quality & Patient Safety Team, the Assistant Risk Manager is responsible for the development of proactive systems that place the quality and safety of patient care at the centre. The Assistant Risk Manager will report to the Quality & Patient Safety Manager and will work closely with all the members of the Quality & Safety Team to support and develop all aspects of quality and patient safety management in consideration of the Patient Safety Strategy.
