Staff Grade Medical Scientist for the National Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory (NNBSL) Purpose of the Role: Newborn bloodspot screening is an integral part of the Irish health service. It is a complex process ensuring that all babies born in hospital or in the community are offered screening for a number of inherited or congenital disorders and followed up until the screening process is completed and baby is referred to the appropriate clinical team such that onward testing and appropriate clinical management can be commenced. Heel prick screening The methodologies currently used in the laboratory include mass spectrometry, immunoassay, flurometry and molecular testing. The purpose of this post is to provide a safe, efficient, quality laboratory service in conjunction with other Medical Scientists, to satisfy the needs and requirements of service users (newborns) whose samples are tested as part of the Irish National Newborn Screening Programme. The post holder is required to perform scientific work in the laboratory under the supervision of senior colleagues. She/he will carry out routine analyses, participate in implementing new methods and will actively participate in the laboratory quality management system to ISO15189 standards The successful candidate may be required to work across CHI sites and services in line with organisational requirements and the development of the new children’s hospital and associated services in the validation and commissioning period. Physiotherapist, Clinical Specialist, University Hospital
Details of the Service Cork University Hospital is the largest single multi-speciality hospital in Ireland. It is the only Level 1 Trauma Hospital in Ireland. Regional specialities include neurosurgery, plastics and burns, cystic fibrosis and cardiac surgery. It is the centre in Cork City and county for trauma orthopaedics. CUH is the largest multi-specialty site in the country. CUH physiotherapy department has a staff of over 90 WTE providing services across inpatients, outpatients & outreach. The Physiotherapy Department provides physiotherapy care within Cork University Hospital, St. Finbarr’s Hospital Rehabilitation Unit, Westfield Integrated Care –ICPOP and Cork University Maternity Hospital. Physiotherapy plays an integral role in the multidisciplinary team. The service also provides weekend and on-call services (respiratory and mobility) under specific criteria. The post holder will be required to participate in this. Flexibility will be required with regard to the working week as the post holder may be required to give classes/cover clinics in the evening and at weekends. Purpose of the Post There is currently a vacancy for 1 WTE Clinical Specialist in Neurosciences within the Physiotherapy Department in CUH. The post holder will work across the neurosciences and neurology teams in CUH. The post holder will, together with the other clinical specialists in the service, act as a strategic and clinical lead for these services. The post holder will work collaboratively with other physiotherapists, medical, nursing and other health and social care professionals across the acute and community services in providing optimal clinical care and in further developing the service. Role Introduction: Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and is seeking to onboard a Master Data Specialist who will be maintaining master data across Applegreen systems, including SAP and multiple POS systems & who will play a pivotal role in the delivery of a new EPOS project. This role will form part of the master data team and reports to the master data manager. It is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to excel.
