Student Placement, Building Control
**Please read the recruitment pack before completing your application** Job Summary The Building Control team is responsible for the effective and efficient administration and enforcement of Building Regulation Legislation and Dangerous Structure Legislation across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. Hours of Work 36 hours per week. The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Duration of appointment Fixed term contract for 50 weeks commencing 01 September 2025. Work Pattern Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday. Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice. Location and transferability Based in Council Offices, Newry, these posts will work across the Council District of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. Whilst the current vacant post is based in Newry, suitable candidates who are placed on a reserve list may be offered a similar post in other Council locations. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time.
