Advanced Specialist Pharmacist, Antimicrobial Stewardship
The Pharmacy Department at Tipperary University Hospital provides pharmaceutical services in the hospital which include; dispensary services, stock top up services, medicines information, provision of chemotherapy and some ward-based clinical pharmacy services. Pharmacy services are provided by the department to patients being treated in the following specialities; medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, intensive care, cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine and psychiatry (including outpatient clozapine, depot dispensing and residential unit medication supply). The department also provides services to Caredoc, Health Centres, Community Care Clinics, Vaccines, Occupational Health. The team structure within the department comprises pharmacists, technicians, clerical administration and portering staff.

The Theatre Service is 24/7. Services provided include General Surgery, Colorectal, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy and Cardiology patients. This list is not finite and is regularly reviewed by the Senior Hospital Management Team in response to service needs.
