The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Caredoc out of hours GP service, providing safe and effective assessment and nursing care to the patient attending the Caredoc treatment Centre. The Clinical Nurse will provide support, co-ordination with the aim of giving the highest standard of care possible to the patient. The purpose of the post is to establish, organise and co-ordinate multiple core and specialists clinical placements for undergraduate and Internship nursing students thereby ensuring they meet the requirements and standards of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and the curriculum of the BSc Intellectual Disability Nursing Programme.

BGH is part of the Cork University Hospital Group (CUHG) The catchment area is geographically the largest in Ireland with a population of at least 60,000 which is conservatively estimated to double to 120,000 during the six summer months as a result of tourism and summer migration.
