Location: The location of this post will be confirmed upon appointment and flexibility to be based across the Borough will be required. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB This role sits within our Finance pillar in the newly created Corporate & Support Services Directorate. Reporting to one of the Senior Accounting Managers within the team you will play a key role in managing the delivery of a comprehensive and confidential payroll service for the Council. You will lead and develop a team of payroll staff to plan and implement the delivery of a high-quality service to meet the needs of the organisation, following all internal policies and relevant legislation and regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring all payroll is processed and paid on-time, including travel and subsistence and returns to the authorities and pension providers are submitted on time. In addition to overseeing day-to-day payroll operations, you will contribute strategic oversight to optimise processes and mitigate risks.
