Research Associate, Clinical Data Manager, Corrib, School Of Medicine, NUI
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time fixed-term contract position as a Research Associate - Clinical Research Data Manager within the Cardiovascular Research Centre for Advanced Imaging and Core Lab (CORRIB) at the National University of Ireland, Galway. The position is available immediately for a period of one year, with potential to extend subject to project success and funding acquisition. The post-holder will join the Cardiovascular Research Centre for Advanced Imaging and Core Lab (CORRIB) which is a newly established centre of excellence for innovation, research, collaboration and education in Cardiovascular research in the National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland in collaboration with several medical and biomedical institutions and centres at NUIG [http://www.nuigalway.ie/corrib-corelab/]. The CORRIB research centre is led by two Medical Directors: Professor Osama Soliman and Professor Yoshi Onuma, and two senior consultants: Professor William Wijns and Professor Patrick Serruys, who founded the centre in January 2020. The centres’ main focus is applied clinical translational research and the CORRIB centre operates in diverse cardiovascular areas under joint leadership with other NUIG schools including biomedical engineering and school of computer sciences in the field of deep learning, computational modelling and big data. Galway provides a unique ecosystem for Medtech and Cardiovascular research advancement. The successful candidate will have a key role in the data management activities within the CORRIB Research team alongside the chief investigators, medical directors, academic core lab team, coordination team of database developer, data managers, biostatistician, trial coordinators and project managers etc. The Clinical Research Database Developer supports the unit for all data management requirements. The post holder will work across a programme of studies and will be responsible for supporting both investigator-led and commercial led clinical trials.In supporting the data management functions the candidate will work with clinical staff and unit management to establish data management related workloads, timelines and priorities. Electronic Data Capture of clinical research data in the CORRIB Team is an essential component of our clinical research activities, managed through a variety of electronic programs. It is the responsibility of the Clinical Research Data Manager to plan for and resolve any issues that may occur during the capture of data in electronic format as well as ensuring that the data is high quality and delivered for analysis in an accurate and efficient fashion. The data management role requires an understanding of the entire clinical research process to anticipate and fulfil the data needs of each study. This will involve working closely with the other members of the project team including Principal Investigators to devise the data requirements based upon a clinical trial protocol and manage the creation of Case Report Forms. The role will involve CRF design and development (both paper and electronic), data collection, review and discrepancy management to ensure data quality and consistency, in accordance with ICH GCP and ISO14155 standards. Duties: Salary : €39,132 to €43, 910 per annum (public sector pay policy rules pertaining to new entrants will apply). Start date : Earliest possible start date in February 2022.
