The aim of the post is to maximise the operational efficiency of the medical ward services through the allocation and effective use of all hospital resources and utilisation of facilities. Key Responsibilities: · To manage the activities of the medical ward service from admission to discharge, liaising with the Consultants, Nursing Staff and all other health care professionals and support services. · Communicate results of assessments, treatment / care programmes and recommendations to the team and relevant others in accordance with service policy / as required. · Quality assurance within their designated area(s), as well as overseeing and maintaining high standards of clinical practice, and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources. · Managing staffing levels, fostering staff development, and promoting practice development initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of the nursing team. · Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation, and review of care for patients according to BSHS standards. · Maintain compliance with safety protocols, policies, and best practices in patient care. · Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience. Pharmaceutical Technician Senior
The Pharmacy Department at Tipperary University Hospital provides pharmaceutical services in the hospital which include; dispensary services, stock top up services, medicines information, provision of chemotherapy and some ward-based clinical pharmacy services. Pharmacy services are provided by the department to patients being treated in the following specialities; medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, intensive care, cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine and psychiatry (including outpatient clozapine and depot dispensing). The department also provides to South Tipperary Mental Health Services, Caredoc, Health Centres, Community Care Clinics, Vaccines, Occupational Health. The team structure within the department comprises pharmacists, technicians, clerical administration and portering staff. To assist with the provision of a high level pharmacy service to the hospitals, wards and departments covered by the Pharmacy Department.
