Health And Social Care Professions Regional Practice Development Coordinator
Six Health Regions have been established within the HSE, on the basis of the geographical boundaries agreed by the Government in July 2019 and they will be fully operational from 2024. Each Health Region will be tasked with population specific planning resourcing and delivery of health and social care services for the needs of its unique population. This will result in improved accountability and governance in terms of finance and performance, while also bringing decision-making closer to the frontline. Health Regions will enable and empower staff to provide services that are: · Integrated, locally planned and delivered · Easier to access and navigate · Available closer to home Health Regions are geographically-based units with clearly defined populations. They align community and hospital services within specific areas. The HSE will retain a strong but leaner central organisation, with more service provision developed at a local level. The newly established HSE South West Health Region will manage and deliver all public health and social care services for Cork & Kerry serving a population of over 700,000 people. The redesign of services will allow new pathways to be developed between acute hospitals, community services, primary care, health & wellbeing and voluntary sectors to develop more integrated, patient-centred care. The HSE South West includes all hospital and community healthcare services in the region. This includes: Community Healthcare Services focus on keeping you well so that you can continue to live at home or close to home through our health promotion, disease screening, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation programs. HSCP work in all settings including acute, community, disability, specialist, mental health, primary care, residential and services for older persons. Clinical Nurse Manager, Shift Leader MAU, General Hospital
Details of Service Bantry General Hospital (BGH) is a 90 bed rural and remote model 2R Acute General Hospital providing inpatient, outpatient and day patient services. It provides undifferentiated medical care and day case surgical activity for the people of West Cork and South Kerry. It is a member of the South/South West Hospital Group. BGH operates on a 24 hour open access basis for undifferentiated medical intake. The hospital caters for all acute medical emergencies and has a Medical Assessment Unit and a High Dependency Unit. It also has a Rehabilitation and Acute Stroke Unit and a Care of the Elderly Ward. Bantry General Hospital provides elective Day Case Surgery, Minor Procedures and Endoscopy Day Cases. Special Nursing includes Cardiac Rehabilitation and Stroke. BGH is a site for clinical placements for the undergraduate student nurse programme delivered in partnership with the Institute of Technology, Tralee, Co. Kerry. The area provides immediate and ongoing acute medical care to presenting Adult patients in the areas of general medicine. The Medical Assessment Admissions Unit manages all referrals to the Hospital. Details of Service Bantry General Hospital provides services to the population of a unique, rural, area encompassing West Cork and South Kerry. The area extends from the Beara and Sheep’s Head Peninsulas in the south to Kenmare in the west, Macroom and Clonakilty in the north and Timoleague in the east and includes several inhabited islands. The hospital is located approximately 60 miles from Cork University Hospital in Cork City. Under the Reconfiguration of Services Cork & Kerry, BGH has been designated the only Model 2 Remote Rural hospital. OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE: To carry out all material handling and inventory control activities required within a computerised warehouse environment servicing a manufacturing/ distribution/ stores operation, ensuring that stock accuracy and stock control is maintained at all times JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The post holder will: 1. Fully understand and adhere to the instructions as detailed in the appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 2. Ensure that all activities are carried out in a well-organised manner satisfying cGMP at all times 3. Ensure that the area in which they are working has been is left clean/ tidy and maintained to a high standard 4. Ensure correct receipt of all material into the warehouse and the accurate completion of all goods inward documentation 5. Ensure correct and timely issue and receipt of material to and from production and distribution at all times and in line with their requirements 6. Ensure that all material is labelled, stored correctly and properly protected against damage or deterioration with all stock being located properly within storage locations and being accurately recorded on the relevant systems 7. Ensure that all material received into the warehouse is stored in the appropriate location before and after it is passed by Quality Control 8. Ensure that all relevant paperwork and stock records employed throughout the warehouse are accurately maintained in compliance with current GMP and relevant SOPs 9. Ensure that all computer transactions, which the warehouse have responsibility for, are carried out in a timely and accurate manner 10. Dispose of waste material in accordance with procedures 11. Maintain effective control of warehouse staff 12.
