ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 1. Hold GCSE English (Grade A-C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication; and GCSE Maths (Grade A-C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules; 2. Hold a University Degree* in an appropriate Engineering related discipline OR 3. Hold a qualification in an appropriate Engineering related discipline which is at least Level 5 on the National Qualification Framework (NQF – revised September 2004) or on the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) Plus Have 3 years relevant industrial, professional or business experience. Veterinary Advisor
Role Purpose Advancing animal health is a key strategic priority for the Fane Valley Board and shareholders. Under the Fane Valley AgriAdvance initiative, the Veterinary Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting the Fane Valley Agri businesses to deliver this ambition. You will lead and contribute to a range of animal health/veterinary advisory services and projects designed to enhance livestock health, improve productivity and promote sustainable farming practices. Working closely with customers, shareholders and internal teams, you will ensure that farming enterprises remain resilient, profitable and well-positioned for the future. Key Responsibilities Veterinary Advisory Services • Provide expert animal health/veterinary guidance to Fane Valley Agri businesses, customers and shareholders. • Support the delivery of preventive animal health services, including herd health planning and disease control strategies. • Assist in troubleshooting livestock health challenges on farm, identifying root causes and recommending effective solutions. Training & Knowledge Development • Design, deliver and evaluate training programmes for Registered Animal Health Advisors on animal health products, protocols and best practices. • Keep the advisory teams informed on new product developments, emerging diseases and changes in relevant regulations. • Provide technical support materials and resources for both staff and customers. • Support the identification of new animal health products for sale across the Fane Valley Stores Network. Marketing and Promotion • Work with the marketing team to promote Fane Valley AgriAdvance animal health services and products to customers and shareholders. • Contribute veterinary expertise to marketing campaigns, events and promotional materials. • Support the organisation of farmer meetings, workshops and open days to raise awareness of preventive health programmes. • Produce technical articles, case studies and online content to highlight product benefits and animal health outcomes. • Provide input into product positioning and messaging to ensure technical accuracy and relevance to farmer needs. • Act as a technical spokesperson at industry events, conferences and trade shows. Stakeholder Engagement • Build strong working relationships with farmers, industry partners and suppliers to promote the adoption of best practice animal health measures. • Collaborate with internal teams across the Fane Valley agri-divisions to ensure an integrated approach to animal health. • Represent Fane Valley at industry forums, conferences and veterinary networks. Project & Initiative Leadership • Lead or contribute to research, trials and innovation projects under the AgriAdvance initiative. • Monitor and report on key performance indicators relating to livestock health and productivity. • Identify opportunities for new services, tools or technologies to improve animal health outcomes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a food manufacturing business based in Londonderry/Derry. The successful candidate will be Involved in the various stages of bread, desserts and salad production from receipt, storage, processing and product make up to provide a high service level to the customer.
