Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is now inviting applications for Senior Clinical Psychologist in Benign Haematology The purpose of this post is to provide a psychological assessment and intervention service to CHI patients attending the dedicated paediatric psychology in Benign Haematology speciality covering Haemogloinopathy and Red Cell disorders (including Sickle Cell disease (SCD) and Thalassaemia), Haemophilia and Coagulation disorders (including Haemophilia and Von Willebrands disease) and Bone Marrow failure syndromes (including Fanconi Anaemia and aplastic anaemia) amongst others. The post-holder will join the existing psychology service working with a principal specialist psychologist offering a paediatric psychology service, including assessments (neuropsychological assessment within post-holders competencies), interventions and liaison for children, young people and their families coping with chronic health conditions. They will also have the opportunity to deliver psychosocial education to children, young people and their families and group interventions (for instance around pain management or preparation for transition to adult services).
