About This Role Role Purpose The Research Manager (Higher Executive Officer) in An Coimisiún is a middle management role with significant managerial responsibilities. About the Team The mission of the Research and Strategy team is to undertake research to inform all functions of the organisation; and to design and coordinate the processes by which the organisational strategy is developed and implemented and by which strategy implementation is monitored and reported on. The team undertakes research and strategy work in-house, and commissions and oversees third-parties to undertake work on behalf of An Coimisiún, as required. Senior Social Worker
Purpose of the Role The successful candidate will work in The Alders Unit, a specialist child sexual abuse service. The appointee will be responsible for providing social work supports to children and families impacted by child sexual abuse. This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing multidisciplinary team as a Senior Social Worker, to participate in the delivery of assessments and provision of therapeutic interventions to children and their families attending the service. A key function of the post holder will be to co-ordinate a seamless journey through the maternity service in order to minimise additional trauma and stress to the bereaved woman, her partner and their family. Caseload, supporting families who experience: The Clinical Midwife Specialist in Bereavement & Loss provides care within the framework of the HSE National Standards for Bereavement Care following Pregnancy Loss and Perinatal Death (2022) and the HSE National Clinical Guidelines for Post Mortem Examination Services (2023). Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience: 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: - (i) Be a registered Midwife on the active Register of Nurses & Midwives held by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be eligible to be so registered. AND (ii) Be registered in the Midwife Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) Register for which the application is being made or be entitled to be so registered. OR (iii) In exceptional circumstances, which will be assessed on a case by case basis be registered in another Division of the register of Nurses & Midwives. For Pregnancy Loss / Bereavement Care prior to application* (See Note 1 below) . AND (vii) Be required to demonstrate that they have continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area. AND (viii) Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his / her professional responsibility within his / her scope of practice. *Note 1: For Midwives who express an interest in CMS roles and who currently hold a level 8 educational qualification in the specialist area (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above), this qualification will be recognised up to September 2026. AND (a) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative capacity for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. 2.
