Description Creative Futures Academy ( CFA) at NCAD invites applications from experienced design practitioners and educators to develop and deliver a series of immersive, design-led workshops as part of the Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate programme which will start in early Autumn. About Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate is a pioneering all-island initiative, funded by Creative Ireland’s Climate Action Programme, and developed in partnership with the Institute of Directors Ireland and the Institute of Directors Northern Ireland. The programme responds to the urgent challenge of climate change by embedding design thinking and sustainability into decision-making processes across businesses, public bodies and civic organisations. The programme brings together agents of change with the shared ambition to create actionable solutions for our planet. It is supported by directors of small and medium enterprises, the public sector, and multinational organisations across Ireland, each committed to enabling positive behavioural change for future generations. Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate is working to embed five key recommendations that resulted from the first iteration of the programme within corporate organisations and public sector bodies: Build a shared understanding Show what change looks like Make our journey public Give climate a permanent, central role at the table Incentivise and celebrate progress As part of a phase 2 funded programme Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate (CBC4C) will tour the exhibition designed during phase 1 using sustainable design principles to private and public sector organisations, North and South, across the Island of Ireland. The exhibition brings into focus the core challenges impacting Ireland’s climate responsibilities— food, transport, textiles and the built environment in an accessible and impactful way. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of day-long design thinking workshops with ‘Strategising for Sustainable Futures’ as a key focus. Workshops are intended to support businesses and bodies interested in future-scaping to adapt to doing new things in an evolving climate environment. Scope of Work We are seeking applications from individuals to be part of a panel (max. 3) of experts to: ● Co-develop workshop concepts in collaboration with CFA and exhibition partners. ● Design and prototype workshop activities using participatory and design-led methodologies. ● Deliver 5–10 full-day workshops across various locations on the island of Ireland in 2025. Workshops will engage with groups of 8 - 12 participants that may include a mixed cohort of students, board members and C-suite professionals. Workshop Focus Workshops will be aligned with a series of public exhibitions and aim to: ● Build shared understanding around climate action. ● Explore future-facing design solutions. ● Engage staff, boards and stakeholders in systemic change. ● Make sustainability and climate innovation central to leadership practices. Each workshop will respond to the theme of ‘Strategising for Sustainable Futures’ and will work with groups using an agreed and relevant selection of design thinking methodologies to: Demonstrate the value of a design-led approach and To provide potential solutions or ways to frame approaches towards sustainable futures. AREA DIRECTOR MINIMUM ONE YEAR FIXED TERM FULL TIME (OFFALY / TIPPERARY RESIDENTIAL SERVICES) Office base Tullamore We are offering this opportunity to an experienced manager to drive forward the vision, mission and values of the Muiríosa Foundation for those we support. They will have a key role in supporting individuals to be active citizens in their local community and promoting self-determination and self-direction for each individual while overseeing the day to day operations of the designated centres within their remit. The Area Director will ensure that the experience of the people we support is optimally aligned with, and driven by the vision of the Muiríosa Foundation. The successful candidate will be expected to: - Display determination and resilience in their approach to working with individuals with an Intellectual Disability to achieve a good life. - Possess and display a strong leadership and management presence to the large team of support staff and managers within their area. - Plan and develop community based localised services within allocated budgets. - An ability to maintain up to date and accurate records. - Ensure a high standard of care and support is always provided to each individual. - The Area Director will be flexible and capable of managing competing priorities within their workload and will have a robust knowledge and understanding of New Directions, HIQA standards and statutory requirements. - The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate with the individuals we support, their families, other professionals and people important in the individual’s life. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to adapt their interpersonal skills within the context of the situation - The Area Director will be expected to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player. The position requires excellent managerial, leadership, problem solving skills and an ability to strongly advocate for the people we support both Regionally and Organisationally. - Demonstrate a desire and commitment to quality service delivery and continuous improvement. Requirements for the role: · Must have a strong knowledge of National Disability Policy, HIQA Regulations and New Directions · Have Qualification appropriate to the role e.g. Social Care, Nursing, other relevant qualification · 5 years’ managerial experience · Having completed a Management Course is highly desirable .
