Purpose of the Job As part of the Maintenance team the Maintenance Fitter will assist in problem solving activities on key technical equipment problems and provide support to maintenance teams on technical equipment when required. They will work closely with all staff in each area to ensure the smooth running of core business plant, maximise the utilization of machinery and equipment, proactively work to eliminate plant downtime and make improvements to the processes. Hours of Work Dayshift: Thursday to Sunday; 7.00am to 5.30pm Flexibility required to cover days, as required, during holiday periods / project work, etc.

Reporting to the Secretary & General Manager, this key senior role holder will be the primary point of contact for all data privacy matters within the Hospital. They will be responsible for advising the hospital on all its obligations relating to data governance as it relates to national and European legislation. This postholder is pivotal to safeguarding the organisation’s information assets. While reporting directly to the Secretary & General Manager, the postholder may also provide reports to the Hospital’s CEO (Master). Responsible for monitoring the organisation’s compliance with data protection obligations. Inform and provide advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and act as a contact point for data subjects and relevant supervisory authorities. Overall responsibility for the Data Governance Department to include staff management, Data Protection, GDPR, Freedom of Information (FOI) all privacy related queries and requests from third parties (including members of the public and regulatory authorities). Training of Hospital staff in these key areas. The successful candidate will provide leadership and strategic input into the ongoing development of the Data Governance Department within the hospital. To enable the satisfactory discharge of this critical role, the Data Governance Manager will be involved in all issues which relate to the protection of personal data within the hospital. Medical Scientist, Staff Grade, University Hospital
Details of Service The Department of Clinical Microbiology is a consultant led laboratory offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic services in routine Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, infectious Disease Serology and Molecular Diagnostics as well as consultation in microbiology, infectious diseases and antibiotic utilisation and provision of statistical and cumulative data for infectious disease monitoring. The Department provides this service to CUH inpatients and outpatients, to patients in primary and continuing care and for selected tests to associated hospitals in the region. The laboratory is a Health Service Executive (HSE) South installation with links to Medical and Science Faculties at UCC. It also has strong educational links with the MTU Biological Sciences Department. As well as the diagnostic service provided, the laboratory is also involved in teaching both medical and biomedical science students and is involved in collaborative research work with clinical colleagues. The laboratory is accredited by the Royal College of Pathologists for specialist training in Medical Microbiology and maintains a Quality Management System which is accredited by the Irish National Accreditation Board against Standard ISO15189:2012. The laboratory is constantly evolving, exploring and adopting new technologies and platforms to address user needs and exceed user expectations. It is expected that all staff would engage with and embrace such new technologies. Operations at the laboratory depend on a rich and fruitful interaction between clerical, scientific, clinical and nursing staff, as well as close links with third level institutions.
