The Role: The Asset Management and Sustainability area is responsible for the development of asset policies, strategies and plans to determine the significant investment required into Ireland’s infrastructure. The area drives investment and the Sustainability and Innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored. The Asset Management function is responsible for strategic planning, prioritisation, and development of Uisce Éireann’s Capital Works pipeline. The function plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of activities across the three asset functions as well as providing environmental assessment and management expertise across Uisce Éireann. The Asset Strategy Team responsibility is to develop strategic plans for all water, wastewater and natural assets and to ensure the authorisation of the asset base. The scope of the team's responsibility covers 5 main areas: environmental strategy, water asset strategy, wastewater asset strategy, forward planning and planning strategy. Reporting to the Wastewater Asset Strategy Manager, the National Strategic Plan Manager (Wastewater) is responsible for the development and management of wastewater strategies that enable the safe and sustainable collection and treatment of wastewater to meet planned needs and serviceability standards. The role holder shall also be responsible for developing Uisce Éireann’s requirements for integrated urban wastewater and drainage planning as required by government policy and European legislation. The role holder also supports the investment planning process. This includes the roll-out of asset policies, strategies and strategic plans and the use of common tools and shared data across the asset functions. The role will also support the development of asset standards and policies. The Role: Customer Operations develop, deliver, and support excellent customer service to both domestic and non-domestic customers within a regulated industry. Customer Operations is responsible for managing the customers relationship with the Customer Contact Centre, ensuring timely and accurate customer billing services and effectively implementing the Uisce Éireann customer strategy. Connections and Developer Services (CDS) are responsible for the customer engagement and stakeholder relationship management of all connections to the Uisce Éireann network. The CDS team manage the customer journey from development concept design, statutory planning process, pre-connection, technical design, site quality assurance, vesting of new asset and final connection and metering, including developing commercial/technical customer agreements, and managing customer funding in adherence to all technical standards, connection charging policy and governance requirements. CDS are responsible for delivering a highly effective customer service, including reviewing, and implementing solutions to meet changing customer needs. Collaboration with several key business partners is essential for the successful delivery of connections on behalf of the customer. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Regional Manager, the Senior MEICA Engineer will be responsible for all MEICA activities related to self-lay developments, ensuring compliance with Connection and Developer Services technical design requirements. Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied. It encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories: constructing and civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include renovating buildings, shopfitting, and exhibition/display work. Accounts Manager (Higher Executive Officer)
The Role – Overview Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, the Accounts Manager (HEO – Standard Scale) will play a central role in establishing the Finance function in the Gambling Regulatory Authority. This role will oversee the Authority's accounting operations, ensure compliance with public sector standards and provide effective support to GRAI's strategic and operational objectives. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the role may include, but are not limited to, the following: This entitlement is subject to the normal conditions governing annual leave in the Public Service, is based on a five-day working week and excludes public holidays. Sick Leave Pay during properly certified sick absence, provided there is no evidence of permanent disability for service, will apply on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the Civil and Public Service sick leave circulars. Officers paying Class A PRSI will be required to sign a mandate authorising the Department of Social Protection to pay any Social Welfare benefits directly to the Authority. Payment during illness is subject to the officer making the required claims within the prescribed time limits. Superannuation and Retirement The successful candidate will be offered the appropriate superannuation terms and conditions applying in the Public Service at the time of appointment. In general, an appointee who has never worked in the Public Service will be appointed under the Single Public Service Pension Scheme ("Single Scheme") . Where the appointee has worked in a pensionable Public Service position before 1 January 2013 , and any subsequent breaks in service have been less than 26 weeks, they may be entitled to membership of a pre-existing Public Service pension scheme. Pension entitlement will be established based on the individual's Public Service employment history and the relevant legislation and scheme rules. Pre-existing pension scheme terms may vary between Public Service bodies. Existing civil or public servants should make themselves aware of any pension implications arising from changing employment. Appointment to a fixed-term position may also have pension implications. Pension Abatement If the appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and is receiving a Civil or Public Service pension, or if such a pension becomes payable during re-employment, that pension will be subject to abatement under Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and Other Provisions) Act 2012. Ill-Health Retirement Anyone who previously retired on ill-health grounds under a superannuation scheme must declare, at the initial application stage, that they are receiving such a pension. Applicants will be required to attend the GRAI Occupational Health Physician's office to assess their ability to provide regular and effective service, taking account of the condition that qualified them for ill-health retirement. Pension Accrual Section 52(6) of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and Other Provisions) Act 2012 limits pensionable service across all pre-existing Public Service schemes (non-Single Scheme) to a maximum of 40 years or equivalent. Where pensionable service exceeded 40 years on 28 July 2012 , Section 52(7) allows retention of those accrued benefits. This may have implications for appointees with previous Public Service pension rights. Additional Superannuation Contribution This appointment is subject to the Additional Superannuation Contribution (ASC) in accordance with the Public Service Pay and Pensions Act 2017. ASC deductions are additional to any main scheme and spouses' and children's pension contributions required under the relevant pension scheme. Reporting relationship The Estates Manager reports directly to the Assistant National Director Capital & Estates Key working relationships Capital & Estates National & Regional Colleagues Regional Health Colleagues Acute Hospital Colleagues Department of Health & other relevant government agencies Design Teams, Construction Contractors Purpose of the post To manage and deliver health care estate services including administrative, professional, technical and project management services in accordance with the responsibilities and duties of the post. The role may be dedicated to manage either Acute or Community infrastructure within a region or may be assigned to manage all infrastructure in a geographical area within a region. Principal duties and responsibilities In accordance with the policies and procedures of the HSE and working as part of the Regional Capital & Estates Management Team: Aiding service management / budget holders in preparing programmes for the maintenance of buildings, services, equipment under their control and implementation and delivery of the maintenance service directly where it falls under Capital & Estates responsibility. (Currently maintenance falls under Capital & Estates in Swords; Cherry Orchard; Clonskeagh & Cork/Kerry Offices but this is under review) Aiding service management / budget holders in drawing up, or in appropriate circumstances, to arrange for the development of plans and contract arrangements for the implementation of approved maintenance programmes and implementation and delivery of the maintenance service directly where it falls under Capital & Estates responsibility. Aiding service management / budget holders regarding HSE buildings, services, equipment under their control with the objective that these are adequately maintained in accordance with the approved maintenance programmes. In addition to capital allocations the Estates Manager is also responsible for the pay and non-pay revenue resources allocated to the Capital & Estates Office - including management of various Corporate Offices and Vacant buildings and properties.
