Purpose of Position: The Executive Assistant for Student Registry & Registrar will provide administrative support to both the Director of Student Registry Services and the College’s Registrar. Assistant Director, User Complaints Team & Investigations AP
Coimisiún na Meán Vision and Mission Coimisiún na Meán is Ireland’s agency for developing and regulating a thriving, diverse, creative, safe and trusted media landscape. As the independent media regulator, Coimisiún na Meán is responsible for regulating broadcasters, video-on-demand providers and online platforms established in Ireland. Their wide-reaching remit also includes supporting and developing the Irish media sector. About This Role The Platform Supervision and Investigations division’s main function is to supervise digital services in Ireland and enforce the Digital Services Act (DSA), Terrorist Content Online Regulation and Online Safety Code. It consist of four supervisory teams, an Investigations team and a Regulatory Operations team which help determine regulatory strategy. The User Complaints team also sits in this division and is responsible for receiving complaints against service providers for alleged infringements of the DSA. The mission of the Platform Supervision and Investigations division is to understand the services and operations of the organisations that Coimisiún na Meán regulates, and to hold regulated entities to account. This includes monitoring compliance with regulatory obligations, resolving issues voluntarily when appropriate, handling user complaints and taking formal compliance action when warranted. User Complaints Team The User Complaints team sits within the Platform Supervision and Investigations Division and is responsible for receiving complaints against service providers for alleged infringements of the DSA. This team receives complaints escalated via the User Experience team, and also directly from other Digital Services Coordinators (DSCs) across the EU, in relation to service providers who are based in Ireland. This team progresses complaints in line with relevant legislation (section 201 of the Broadcasting Act 2009, as amended), and can also transmit complaints to the European Commission, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), and other DSCs across the EU as necessary. The work of the team is fast-paced and diverse. Investigations Team The Investigations team sits within the Platform Supervision and Investigations Division and is responsible for investigating alleged breaches of regulations, including the DSA, Terrorist Content Online Regulation and the Online Safety Code. The team must investigate alleged breaches in accordance with relevant legislation and adhere to fair procedures. The team is also responsible for supporting the European Commission with certain of its investigation and if a request has been made under Article 66 of the DSA. About This Role Role Purpose The Head of Financial Control will be responsible for overseeing the organisation’s Accounting and Finance Operations processes so that Coimisiún na Meán can operate efficiently and effectively, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation. As the holder of a new role, you will be able to initiate and lead processes to maximise efficiency and effectiveness across Coimisiún na Meán. You will join an organisation in the early stages of it’s development and you will have the opportunity to be part of the implementation of initiatives, policies, and procedures to support delivery of the organisation’s strategic goals. About the Team The Head of Financial Control will manage the Accounting and Finance Operations teams which currently consist of six people. The role will report to the Director of Finance and Procurement. Finance and Procurement falls within Coimisiún na Meán's Corporate Services Division along with the areas of Governance, People and Organisational Development and the Commission Secretariat. The mission of the Corporate Services Division is to ensure that Coimisiún na Meán is an agile, well-run organisation, with motivated and capable staff. The division will ensure that Coimisiún na Meán operates to a high standard of corporate governance, effectively and in accordance with the Code of Practice on the Governance of State Bodies and our governing legislation. The successful candidate will work as a member of a team and participate in the implementation and evaluation of appropriate training programmes suitable to the individual needs and abilities of trainees. Post-holder will be responsible for delivering NFQ Levels 1, 2 and 3 modules as required. The Candidates Must have a relevant Level 5 or higherqualification on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework in community development, health or education 6 months experience of working with people with an intellectual disability, autism and challenging behaviour is desirable Experience of delivering and monitoring programme modules at QQI Levels 1, 2 and/or 3 is highly desirable Must be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems Skills / or interest in Art/Crafts, Pottery, Horticulture, Gardening, Alternative therapies, Music, Sport, would be a distinct advantage.
