Psychology Assistant · 0.5 WTE (17.5 hours) · Temporary Specified Purpose (approx. 12 months) · H.S.E. funded · Based in Harold’s cross The successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to work closely with Principal, Senior, and Staff Grade Psychologists to deliver and further develop the Psychology Service in OLH&CS across inpatient and community / outpatient settings. The purpose of this role is to support the clinical service provision, research and teaching capacity of qualified practitioner Psychologists. Following induction and training, the Psychology Assistant will undertake prescribed tasks relating to assessment and intervention commensurate with their level of competence under the supervision of a professionally qualified psychologist who will hold full clinical and professional responsibility. The Psychology Assistant post will be a much-valued resource and will support the delivery of service-related initiatives as well as evidence-based psychological services to patients attending OLH&CS. This role will operate in line with the Psychological Society of Ireland guidelines for such posts. Essential Requirements Qualifications: · Have a Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) accredited qualification at not less than a Level 8 at 2.1 honours grade on the QQI qualifications framework in which psychology was the major subject. Desirable Requirements Qualifications: · A Master’s degree in Psychology (e.g. Applied Psychology, Neuropsychology, Health Psychology). Those currently completing a Master’s programme must provide a referee with knowledge of your achievements on the programme to date. · Previous work experience in a healthcare setting (this can include paid or voluntary work) · Previous experience of clinical interview and use of a variety of psychometric assessments, including neuropsychological assessment tools. · Previous experience of Mindfulness-based interventions. · Clean Driving Licence and access to own car · Information / digital technology skills.
