G&G Engineering est. 1984 is a family run SME supplying a bespoke contract manufacturing service, which entails Precision metal stampings, Plastic injection moulding and Automated assemblies. The successful candidate will be working within all aspects of G&G to gain a general knowledge of the function of each process while focusing in Maintenance and high precision machining within G&G’s Toolroom/ Maintenance department. Over their 4 year apprenticeship they will gain a very broad ranging knowledge of all aspects of in-house maintenance of equipment and bench fitting as well as touching into some automation projects. The candidate must have attention to detail, an interest in working with metal and their hands, as well as the ability to work in a team and independently. A candidate must be a minimum of over the age of 16 and have passed their junior certificate to be able to become an apprentice. It would be an advantage if you did Technical graphics, Metalwork, Engineering prior, though this is not essential.

Job Duties / Responsibilities • Operation of a variety of specialised tools and machinery including Pressbrake, Guillotine, Hand power tools, Forklifts, etc. • Assist with manufacturing of custom stainless steel products. • Understanding and analysis of technical drawings and diagrams. • Completion of detailed tasks with high accuracy and careful handling. • Attend onsite work where required. • Passing written and practical exams on all off-the-job phases. • Training will be provided for all of the above. • Comply fully and work in accordance with our QMS including completion of customer inductions/training requirements where onsite work is necessary. • Attend all mandatory training provided by the company. Minimum Entry Requirements • Must meet SOLAS’ minimum entry requirements. • English language fluency essential (written and spoken). Knowledge / Skills / Competencies • Strong capability in mathematics an advantage. • Familiarity with engineering, metalwork and/or technical drawing an advantage. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Flexibility is expected especially during busy periods. • Ability to demonstrate good work practices including attendance, timekeeping, tidiness, safety awareness, quality awareness, responsibility and a willingness to learn.
