As part of the learning process apprentices will complete a level 6 NFQ course in logistics in Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). The programme will be split as 4 days in DGF Dublin and one day in college. This programme is suited for individuals who may be looking to enter the world of logistics or develop their current knowledge of the industry. Key Accountabilities: Minimum Entry Requirements: Minimum entry requirements are a grade H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in Mathematics. Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, Logistics and Distribution, supply chain management, etc.) can apply for entry onto the programme. Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL processes require the applicant to provide evidence of appropriate past learning, whether that is certified or experiential learning. In some cases it may be sufficient for the applicant to provide copies of appropriate certificates. In other cases there may be a self-assessment exercise, preparation of a file or ‘portfolio’ of appropriate evidence of learning, an interview, and perhaps a demonstration or assessment task. The Accounting Technician Apprenticeship , launched in September 2017, is a new pathway to a career in business, accountancy and finance, where apprentices are mentored through a two-year, work-based learning programme. Leading companies from practice, industry, insurance, pharmaceutical, construction and public sector will be *recruiting in Dublin.* Accounting Technician Apprentices work four days a week with a registered employer and study one day a week with a local college, on a two-year contract. Apprentices get paid a salary of at least €19,000 per annum and their college tuition is fully funded by SOLAS. They are entitled to three weeks paid study leave per year. The programme leads to a Level 6 QQI Advanced Certificate in Accounting. For the Accounting Technician Apprenticeship Programme an apprentice will be attending (off-the-job training) at college one day and working with an employer four days during college term time (on the job training) on a weekly basis. Outside of college term an apprentice will attend work five days a week. The (off-the-job training) day is set by the college but usually will be a Monday from 9:00am to 6.00pm and an employer will allocate appropriate work hours for the four days (on-the-job training) not exceeding the 37.5 hours per week (on and off the job training) required to be completed by the apprentice for the programme and their employment contract.
