This is a senior leadership position, reporting to the Director of OSD(Finance) or other designated Manager, with overall responsibility for the management of key elements of the finance function. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and budget holders to support effective planning, decision making, financial control and organisational performance. Location of Position The position will be based initially in City of Dublin ETB Head Office, Town Hall, 1-3 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, D04 PP46. Essential Requirements • A professional accountancy qualification and be a member of a recognised body of accountants (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) and have a minimum of three years post qualification experience at a senior level in a public sector or commercial organisation. OR A degree equivalent to Level 7 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications in a relevant discipline as may be considered appropriate in the discretion of City of Dublin ETB and have a minimum of five years financial experience at a senior level in a public sector or commercial organisation. • Have significant experience in managing staff in a large complex organisation, including in key functional areas. • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of working with SUN or an equivalent tier 1 ERP system. • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting and financial reporting and analysis. • High level of ICT literacy including a proven ability to apply technology in the workplace. • Comprehensive knowledge of public or private sector financial procedures and accounting methods. • Knowledge of risk management and the implementation of internal controls. • Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop staff to deliver high quality output within tight time frames. • A commitment to teamwork and leading change and a demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively. • Self-starter capable of working on his/her own initiative, with strong multitasking capability, flexible and results focused. • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic and pressurised environment. • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal skills and negotiation skills, including an ability to communicate complex information clearly, both internally and externally. • Excellent judgement, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail. • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and to actively seek learning opportunities. • Strong skills in building productive working relationships and the ability to foster strong links with a range of internal and external stakeholders. • Have an understanding of the main features and current challenges of the Government’s public sector reform plans, including the delivery by the Department of Education & Youth of shared services to the education sector PLEASE CLICK THE APPLY NOW BUTTON TO GO TO THE OFFICIAL CAREERS PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO APPLY
